See Clement doing good job with Norwich. Wish big man all the best was at our club at wrong time. he's a decent manager.

10 Feb 2026 20:32:01
Maybe the Championship is his level as well. Clearly out of his depth at Ibrox, but all the best to him.

10 Feb 2026 20:49:10
More important, we have the right man now at the right time. Wouldn't swap him for PC.

10 Feb 2026 21:15:59
Decent, yes, but not better than Danny.

A gentleman nonetheless.

10 Feb 2026 21:31:54
Not many managers will win back-to-back leagues with different clubs.

10 Feb 2026 21:56:53
Anyone noticed the sports science hasn't been mentioned since Big Phil left? That was all he went on about.

10 Feb 2026 22:07:44
Guy didn't get the same backing as Danny. Who knows what he could have done if he did.

10 Feb 2026 22:10:41
Sports science, another made up myth. Great point, Laudrup. I forgot all about that nonsense.

10 Feb 2026 22:24:30
We will never know, but who knows how Danny Rohl would have done at that time without all the correct infrastructure in place, and similarly, how would Clement do now? Both have managed to turn poor teams in the Championship to being amongst the form teams.

As I say, we will never know, but I hope both go on to make the clubs they are at now very successful.

11 Feb 2026 05:27:48
I think Big Phil is a good manager, but I'm delighted Danny Rohl is now our manager. ? Really rate and like everything about Danny Rohl. ???

11 Feb 2026 06:56:54
Always look out the Norwich score now.

He really is doing a fantastic job, and we have a lot to be thankful to PC for.

11 Feb 2026 07:27:57
In what way has Danny benefited so far from a better infrastructure until January? He took over, with the board admitting getting it wrong, and a team in the worst position in living memory, and turned us into title challengers. After doing an incredible job at Sheff Wed, who were in a far bigger mess than us. While Barry Ferguson and his team of pundits took PC's Queens Park losers to the quarter finals in Europe.

Sorry, no comparison. Nice guy, and hope he does well in the future, but really don't understand all the right guy, wrong time stuff. Still should have done better with what he had. None of our recent managers have had a great board or infrastructure behind them.

11 Feb 2026 07:50:27
He was just here at the wrong time.
He's a good coach, and it would have been a different story if he was here now.

We had 3 waffle merchants in a row with Beale, Clement & Martin.

Thinking about what came out of their interviews is hilarious chat.

Danny definitely has an aura about him, maybe its the accent.

11 Feb 2026 09:52:54
Every manager could say it was the wrong time. I think some want to rewrite history. Results and performances were poor, and some of what he said in interviews was painful listening to. As I say, I wish him well, but why look back when it's much better now?

11 Feb 2026 11:21:23
Hope the big man does well, and I also look out for their results now too. He would do a far better job than he did under the backing of Cavanagh.

11 Feb 2026 13:04:04
Its great to see Big Phil doing so well now that he is at a club that has the proper structure and backing from above him, and lets him get on with managing the team. Those slagging him off forget what happened behind the scenes in the run in to the end of the 23/24 season and the summer leading to the new season. At one point, he was almost fronting the club on his own while having his transfer budget slashed and having to play home games away from Ibrox. Despite all that, he was robbed in one cup final, cheated in another, and had a magnificent record in Europe.

Thats not a manager who is out of his depth. I'm not going down the road of comparing him with Danny Rohl, but to put him in the same bracket as Martin and Beale is nonsense. As for the sports science stuff, he was too open about it, but Danny still mentions it in a more subtle way. Listen to when he talks about Sterling and Tav and player loading, its the same thing.

Clement was the next Walter Smith in the making. Rangers were a total mess at the time, and thank God we had him in charge. I am happy with Danny, but I was happy with Clement too. Two fabulous managers, in my opinion.
