Impossible question. He'd of gave us another option, might've bagged more goals than others, but could have had an absolute dud of a season. Better of concentrating on what we have got instead of wondering what if.

Yes, different season, competition and squad.
Can't say but maybe we wouldn't have defeated Celtic at Parkhead with Dessers rather than Chermiti which is key to our position now.

If we still had Dessers we would already be top and likely by a margin let alone win it. I liked Dessers was very unappreciated and some fans treated him very unfairly.
Missed sum sitters sure but 50 goals over 2 seasons we would kill for a striker like that just now. Sad thing is we already had one (Two if you also include Igamane) but we let them go.

Not sure if we'd win the league, but we would certainly have a much better chance with him in our team.

His goals are certainly missed, right now Chermiti no where near Dessers numbers.
I do feel there is a player in Chermiti tho.

Funny thing though is at this point last season we had scored 54 league goals with Dessers getting 13 of those, Cerny and Iga on 11 each. 10 of their goals were in games where we won with a greater margin than 2 goals so I would argue they weren't important.
however last season we were still second but 13 points behind Celtic on 37 points. this season we have 47 and 4 behind Hearts so the team is now getting results despite that loss of goals. and that was after only collecting 8 under Martin. so I don't think even Dessers would have helped under Martin.
we have only lost 7 points under Rohl so would Dessers have scored goals in each of those with the poor service we give our strikers then that is just guesswork. proved in another thread we created more last year so don't argue he created his own chances.

We currently have 3 strikers who have cost 18m, but very little return, Dessers missed a few but at least got himself in position to have a chance of scoring.
Imo Chermiti is never going to give us decent goal return, Miovski scored for Aberbeen because teams open up against them but teams sitting in, he is just useless.
Dinilo just not suited to scottish football.
If bids for Chermiti and Gassama are genuine we are crazy not to accept. could easily had replacements in and money in bank. is that not the trading model we want to follow.
Alright to says we are backed by 49s money but it is not viable to spend with out higher income.

Dessers constantly injured and Igamane with an Achilles. We would be relying on an injury prone Danilo.

Jasp we are struggling to get good bids accepted for a striker so selling Chermiti wouldn't mean another striker would be signed unless we over pay.

Not going back over old ground with Dessers, despite his goals I still say he wasn't what we need, the fact that we have actually bought worse doesn't change that and is just proof of our bad recruitment.
I don't think we can say that he would have scored goals to win us the league this season, we will never know but what I will say that he was in Clements team that collapsed at this stage of the season two seasons ago and while there were a number of players who share the blame, we should remember the rot started at Ross County in a game we would have been 3 up at half time if he had buried two easy chances, and he missed a couple in the 0-0 draw at Dens Park.
Doesn't meant he was the only one to blame but equally it doesn't mean he would have made a difference this season either.

I would prefer a playmaker who can give us the assists of Cerny and Hagi. ASO might be that player.

GJD,I agree mate as the treatment from some of our supporters towards Dessers was shocking mate ?? It's the same with our captain james Tavernier GJD ?the treatment of the Rangers captain from some is absolutely shocking and not called for ?? It's one thing saying tav is over the hill now but honestly some of the comments towards the guy is terrible, just much the same as big CD9 got ??

wsl I agree with your post. don't think the collapse was down to lack of ability but the mental strength of the team. I hope Danny is able to get us this time to be mentally strong as this seems like the right path we are on for the long term at last.
Clement never recovered from that title challenge so hopefully Rohl doesn't fall the same way.
