I know I have done it in the last but do we as a support have a poor tendency to write players off in as little as 6 months.
We as a support are quick to want to sign players who are mid career and enjoying their first good 6 months of their careers.
But we write off young players in as little a timeframe.
I personally need to start looking at players over a lot longer timeframes.

Ap i'm certainly guilty of it and embarrassing on livechat called out the team as cowards at ht. i'm glad today they proved me wrong but now we must go and beat Aberdeen on Tuesday and build momentum.
03 Jan 2026 20:10:57
I think everyone is guilty of it but you can only judge a player on his performances as you see it.
03 Jan 2026 20:23:05
Let's face it, up until this last few weeks, he's been poor.
Today will do his confidence the world of good.
03 Jan 2026 20:27:19
No! Its one game! What about all the games in Europe or the rest of league games where the same players barely showed up. Why do you need to change because of one game?
Look the players were great today but that's a very poor Celtic team.
We have two very big games against Aberdeen. Today means nothing if we can't build on today.
One swallow does not make a summer. There has been more poor performances than good.
Lets hope Rohl gets 3 or 4 quality players in to help us push on.
One game does not mean Chermiti has proved fans wrong or right or prove what Dio brings to the team. As I said where were they in the rest of the games when they have been poor. They must show consistency just like the rest of the team.
If we win both games against Aberdeen with the same performance levels today then we will all be even more optimistic but equally, we drop points and lose ground in the title race then the same criticism will no doubt arise.
Its amazing how one game can cloud judgement and suggest a corner has been turned.
Credit to Rohl, his tactical tweets at half time won us the game.

Confidence is everything in football. Energy too. He'll feed off the positive energy from the stands.
03 Jan 2026 20:32:19
Football is an emotional sport. During heightened emotional states you makes impulsive calls. Nothing wrong with that. I called them bottle merchants to a mate at half time. It's not a big deal. We say and think things in the heat of the moment. Nothing wrong with that.
I've called Chermiti a donkey and at the same time wished for him to prove me wrong which is a good thing. I'd rather consistently make a fool of myself getting it wrong a lot then say the opposite and be wrong in that scenario.
Anyways cmon!
03 Jan 2026 20:42:49
Guys I wasn't meaning Chermiti. I was meaning all players that join and take time to settle.
People are wanting 25/26 year olds from Motherwell and Hearts ect after performing well for the first sustained period of their careers.
So by that logic we need to give these teenagers or early 20s until their mid 20s before writing them off as poor players.
Take penrice for example. He may make a Scotland squad by the time he reaches 30. Would be completely written off at 21.
03 Jan 2026 20:46:21
Why is Danny Rohl tweeting his tactics at half time? He should be keeping them in house. Not putting them on social media.
03 Jan 2026 20:49:51
It was obvious to everyone that we were getting over ran in midfield in the 1st half. Rohl should have made the changes after 20 minutes and we were very fortunate to be only 1 goal behind. A better team and the match would have been over. He and we got away with one.
03 Jan 2026 20:59:59
We all know who we are talking about think his last three have been good was well impressed with him vs stmirren
Again though first half ahows how manager getting it right plays a huge part talk about a game of two halves.
03 Jan 2026 21:07:42
Again guys I was not trying to single out any player.
I was meaning out overall attitudes towards any player that joins.
03 Jan 2026 21:16:20
Think we all knew Dio for Aasaagard was the sub to be used but playing football and refraining from the long ball every time helped, we put ourselves under so much pressure in first half with losing ball in our own half, a bit of composure helped bring the front three into the game which panicked them big time and stopped them playing with any confidence.
03 Jan 2026 21:18:54
I must admit Chermitis performances in the last two games have shocked me, in a good way. He showed nothing in previous games to indicate he could play like that but good luck to him I'm glad he has proved me wrong and I hope he goes from strength to strength.
All I need now is for Matondo and Dowell to turn up and start to play,
03 Jan 2026 21:28:30
Coldo got a new name.
03 Jan 2026 21:39:24
Lol Orange I knew someone would pounce on that, damn phone I meant tweaked. To be honest though he could have texted Nancy his tactics and Nancy would still have no idea what to do.
03 Jan 2026 21:45:24
Agree 100% some players hit the ground running and others don't till 6 months or a year later, Raskin was dire at the beginning then Clement came and he started doing good (disappeared this season) but some simply don't adapt or get injured constantly (Danilo and Cortez). Others need the right manager like Bassey didn't see the light of day under Gerrard but thrived under Gio and Aribo was decent under Gerrard but brilliant under Gio.
The problem with Chermiti is some people will never see past the 10 million unless he scores 25+ goals a season but even then they might not, I mean 10 million could of got us Xhaka and look at what he's doing for Sunderland.
03 Jan 2026 22:32:55
Top geezer nonsense man, Chermiti was outstanding against St Mirren, I would be really surprised if you seen everything in him. CC.
03 Jan 2026 22:42:15
#Anything in him.
03 Jan 2026 22:49:27
Unfortunately we're all bound to make quick judgements. And hope now he carries on proving us all wrong. But can't expect us to see someone playing rotten and just sit back and say oo I wonder what he'll be like in 6months or next season. If that was the case Russell Martin would still be in the job.
Can only judge them by how they perform and up till recently he wasn't doing it. Just the same as result today, everyone thought at half time we were awful but then turned it round, but doesn't mean we were wrong about 1st half.
