Had a chance meeting with Rohl today.
Aside from being really surprised at how tall he was - for some reason I assumed he was quite short - was really impressed by how laid back he was. Honestly came across as someone who is in complete control, which is impressive considering we're so close to an old firm match and the transfer window has just opened.

i really like Rohl, seems to understand what's expected, really hope we take massive strides forwards with him at the helm.
01 Jan 2026 14:59:24
EHL it was often said that he would be a project that wouldn't be able to handle the Glasgow life.
I think hiring someone who has been able to handle the Munich (fishbowl) and the pressures that come with FC Bayern and the German national team can be proven to be a masterstroke.

Aphelion but that is nothing like the Glasgow fishbowl mate, why you had me questioning did you understand it, players signed have experienced nothing like it before.
01 Jan 2026 15:54:17
Overall I have thought he has been a breathe of fresh air and what he has managed with this squad in such a short time is brilliant, look forward to him actually iplementing his style on the team going forward.
My only criticism of him was his subs but he seems to have been getting better with these lately too.
01 Jan 2026 16:32:59
That is because we predominantly sign players from English leagues.
I would stand by my comments that representing Bayern Munich is more demanding than the old firm.
01 Jan 2026 16:34:49
Aphe it's not the same thing mate absolutely not.
In a way mate it's similar to how u have lost it a wee bit on here at times. It's the pressure Glaswegians can put people under that's causing it.
I totally get what u mean with the pressure of Bayern mate I do.
But it's something quite unique I would say.
01 Jan 2026 17:11:43
Aphe off course Bayern more demanding as r teams like Chelsea real Barcelona.
It's called west of Scotland mentality.
01 Jan 2026 17:18:29
Ehl I think at 5-8 he is short. But suppose what we measure it against ie Barron or fernandes.
01 Jan 2026 17:06:47
the pressure is there with both clubs surely. two sets of fans who expect to win every game. difference in Scotland is that we are constantly chasing so pressure is greater for the chasing team in a 2 horse race; us being the horse with the bad leg.
Bayern are usually so far ahead that the pressure is lower surely. they rent truly challengers for the ECL either.
01 Jan 2026 17:33:56
He must have been wearing a pair of high heels I didn't notice then John.
01 Jan 2026 17:35:10
What about Albertz Aphelion? he said I have never experienced anything close to it.
01 Jan 2026 17:36:38
Or Mols, Dado, far too many for mentioning mate.
01 Jan 2026 17:37:04
Angus my experience of Germany is if Bayern are not winning every match for example when Tuchel was Manager it is like Armageddon is approaching.
They have a fan base that expect to dominate domestically and seriously challenge in continental football.
John I understand that every part of the world is unique.
Scotland reminds me very much of Turkey.
In particular Istanbul.
Now if anyone has ever experienced an Istanbul derby it is a truly frightening experience.
I understand the sectarian divide in Glasgow which again is mirrored with the very divide that splits Istanbul.
01 Jan 2026 17:40:31
Sorry lads the pressure at Bayern will be just as much as Rangers.
01 Jan 2026 19:00:37
Aphe I don deny that they want to win every match but most seasons if they lose then it doesn't affect the, too much s they are normally 7 points+ ahead.
so far this season on here we have had posters making 32 games must win games and we have only played 18 ?.
01 Jan 2026 19:16:30
This wasn't aboit pressure it was about the goldfish bowl atmosphere.
01 Jan 2026 19:26:40
StevieGnew I am sorry my friend there has been a misunderstanding.
I specifically mentioned the word " pressures" in my post.
I deliberately attempted to separate pressure and atmosphere.
I attempted to deliberately omit atmosphere from any of the subject matter I was referring to.
01 Jan 2026 20:20:51
Stevie there is no atmosphere in old firm league matches,
01 Jan 2026 22:39:13
What a load of utter pure pish getting spouted on here and it's because of what John says the west of Scotland mentality and think Rangers and Celtic only two clubs in the world that deal with pressure etc… nothing else like ? honestly it's embarrassing.
Bayern have to win every game as much as Rangers or Celtic and its a disaster if they don't just like Rangers and Celtic same with real Barcelona I could go on.
01 Jan 2026 22:40:49
Aphe river plate and boca as well but you had some fans think it only happens in Scotland. It's very small minded.
01 Jan 2026 22:36:00
I do my mean atmosphere at games guys, aphe not atall mate I was only trying to explain something you couldn't possible understand as u haven't lived here or played/managed
Not your fault there's no way for u to know mate.
John, I'm meaning the goldfish bowl of Glasgow.
Not being able to go out to places that is normal for orher clubs and cities n countries. The bigotry side is a massive part of it. All the aspects of living in Glasgow, the drunken arrogance of a lot of people in this area, the drug and alcohol issues visible in the city just the overall fishbowl of Glasgow. The press etc.
Wasn't about atmosphere at games more aboit poison of own fans at times
Wasn't about pressure to win all games was about what it's like living in the city
A bit of everything is what is meant by the fishbowl phrase lads yous know that.
02 Jan 2026 05:55:01
What I like about him is that he takes it in his stride, he is in charge and is comfortable with that. He is looking forward to Saturday's game and I can only think of Gerrard that was like that and that is why he remains so popular with the supporters.
02 Jan 2026 11:13:35
Imo atmosphere relates to what happens inside the stadium before during nd after the game Stevie
By banning away fans and now allowing a small amount in has totally diluted the atmosphere in both stadium.
02 Jan 2026 12:53:50
John of course atmosphere means that.
It also can mean the oxygen we breathe
It can mean the feeling of being uneasy in a room of people
It can mean various things, like the atmosphere around the city for the week before a big game for example.
