A success trading model will only really come from a successful team so need to find the right balance between experience and potential for profit. Celtic have been able to turn quick profit on players some not that better than ours because of winning and getting into champions league profile.
Without we run risk of being like rest of league that doesn't get value. Just look at Maswanhise for example. Yesterday a few talking about being around £1m even though he's been one of best in the league this season. If he was with us we'd want far more.

Kaiser I don't disagree with the principle, but I think that's exactly why the "buy cheap, sell big" idea gets overstated for clubs like ours. You only get those inflated fees once you've already built a winning side with European exposure like we have witnessed ourselves when going to a final
Celtic can flip players quickly because they have pretty much guaranteed titles and Champions League over the years that does more for value than raw talent alone. Without that platform, even standout players get undervalued.
So recruitment still matters, but unless you're consistently competing at the top and in Europe, a trading model on its own won't bridge the gap it just caps how much value you can realistically generate.
But at the same time, our recruitment needs to be a whole lot better this coming season than last that's for sure.
And until we start winning titles and cups, even selling players for top dollar will continue to elude us for the most part, in my humble opinion.

Stingo Celtic will struggle flipping any players now, sold them all and don't think they have any player selling for double figures now, no champions league money will make a dent in their finances, just so hope we can manage winning the league because want a dent champions league money for us compared with them.

Not sure about them not having any players worth double figures mystar, maeda, Johnstone, nygren imo will go for around 10 mil each mate. Nygren on 10 goals already, excellent return for his first season. We badly miss a goal scoring mf, we have for years now.

Maswanhise signed a new contract in August to '27 with another year option Mystar and Deboer so has plenty time still on it. But they still won't get huge fee because it's just Motherwell. (might mean he's worth persuading in the summer if he keeps playing like he is) Just using his as an example, point being until start being successful we won't get full value.

Kaiser I think success shows our players will have ability and mentality to go to bigger clubs. Ability easy to see but mentality comes to the fore with successful players. so can player we have go on to succeed at Liverpool when the cost is £15-£20M. that is a risk at that price even with the amount of money going around down south.
I think that if we get Maswanhise for £1M with that long on his contract then someone needs a pay rise.
difference between 3rd and 4th is 500k in prize money so even if it was 6 months they only lose the same if they refuse 500k.
that was why Europe was so important to us as it allowed teams to see that we had players who could succeed playing against better opposition.

Same nygren mystar that's i think has possibly outscored our whole mf and strikers combined. My whole family support Celtic not one of them dislike nygren. It's mad how you give kudos to Chermiti for a couple of good touches but can't give the same to a guy scoring 10 goals from mf. Just to add we have no 10mil plus players either.

Aphelion if nygren was in our team mystar would be raving about him mate, blue tinted specs. He's played more as mf than on the wing. The guy is on course to score 20 goals in his first season but Celtic fans don't like him ?.

My wife's side of family all Celtic fans and think he is a player. The majority of our fans would take him in a heartbeat with his goals return.

U maybe getting mixed up with Engels Mystar? Most Celtic fans I know like Nygren but are disappointed by Engels. They seem to have a knack of finding goalscoring midfielders which we haven't had for quite a while now.

Nygren is popular with the Celtic fans and been their best signing from the summer.
His goal return as well to this point is decent.

Mystar 15 of his 21 starts have been from mf and central attacking midfielder, that is still mf. It must be your half dozen friends that only don't like him as I've yet to speak to one that doesn't. Those sitters you speak of him missing, does Chermiti not miss some sitters as well, yet you rate him, how can that be? Mystar let's be honest you never rate there players, but always rated ours, yet there players clean up year after year.
One is a striker with 2 goals one assist
The other is a cmf/amf with 10 goals 5 assists
You rate one yet not the other. You also admit to hardly seeing him play.
