Smart footballer, liked the looks of him when iv seen him and a fairly consistent scorer. A leader who would raise standards. If dessers and igamane were to go and we got de jong and turgeman I'd be happy and it would be good business.

Personally be happy with De Jong on a 1yr (+1 maybe) . If he's affordable he could offer something in Europe and if we get young strikers in I would hope could offer something guidance.

No, can see the appeal in de jong but I don't think he would suit RM style of play, would bring experience and other qualities but for me we need energy up front and at his age he doesn't bring that, would like to see us sign an energetic young striker who can read the line, hard to come by within our budget tho. He doesn't fit into player trading model either.

100% take an experienced cf who can head a ball finish first time and throw his weight about would do for me a 2 year deal imo would be great for our club and the younger guys could learn a hell of a lot from him he's had a good carer and played for some top clubs.

Not every player we buy will be for the player trading model, just not how it works. I would take de Jong as he is a nightmare for defenders as he is full on.

18 goals and 13 assists last season and some of you are doubting if he would be a good signing? He would be our best attacking player by a distance. Short term but could easily get a couple of good seasons out of him. Captaining a league winning side and team that had a good season in the champions league with great stats to go along with it.
Free transfer I would bit your hand off for.

Even at 34 I would sign him, he's one of my favourite players, a beast in the air, and an absolute nightmare for defenders.

I'm with the majority on here so far as i would also have luuk de jong at Rangers in a one year deal plus a year option in a heartbeat. Leads the line superbly well and would bully defenders in scotland with his very strong, robust style, not to mention his terrific movement. He'd be a nightmare for defenders in our league to go up against and as well as a very good finisher with both feet, he's also superb in the air. I would love us to be able to put together a deal to sign him and undoubtedly for me, he'd be a big supporter's favourite with his full on style. Very good experienced centre forward.

Luuk De Jong would be a great signing on a free transfer, proven goalscorer, assists stats are good, experienced and an absolute nightmare for defenders to play against.

So his salary is currently €38k Euros PW. How long before he would be a wage thief. we can get 2 young strikers for that salary per week and make money on them in future. he also isn't that high pressing striker RM would be looking for. for same reason I also think Cerny wouldn't fit into the team any more.
