Are we seeing a mini resurgence in Scottish Football?
We already know how strong Celtic are on and off the park domestically.
We have the 49ers takeover at Rangers gathering pace.
And now we have Tony Bloom looking to buy a 29% stake in Hearts for £10 million which would be lucky to buy you 1% stake in an EPL club.
Coupled with the other capital side - Hibs - having an excellent 2nd half of the season, are we seeing foreign investors looking at Scotland as a more viable investment opportunity?
Technically easy access to Europe, even though our sides have notoriously underperformed - apart from Rangers continuously in the EL and Celtic this season in the extended groups of the CL.
We also have the New Firm who have punched above their weight at times this season domestically.
A strong domestic league can only be good for the domestic game long term.
More competition feeds more interest.
Which brings in more money through potentially more fans and sponsors.
Which may even long term force a change in the way the game is run, sold for TV, league reconstruction etc.

I still think if Rangers and Celtic weren't in the SPL it wouldn't be much better than the Northern Irish or Welsh leagues.
It's the old firm that bring added interest to this league.

It wouldn't be mark but it would be a lot
More competitive.

It's difficult to sell the SPL as a strong league with one club winning 13/ 14 league titles and possibly 4 trebles out of 6
Our form in UEFA league is reasonable good but remember there is a massive difference winning Champions League games compared to UEFA league.

Its not a competitive league when one team easily beats everybody else in the league and usually by 4 or 5 goals and by the way the standard is stinking . Most clubs are full of rejects from the lower leagues in England and Europe or over the hill players coming here for a last pay day . The lack of young Scottish talent being good enough to break through into teams which are full of journeyman is worrying for the future . Mind you what can you expect from a league set up that has no competitive football for players over 18.

Would be a better league when you get rid of the wage thieves and bottom feeders starting with doncaster.

Yoursperx, how did you feel about seeing your team play conference football, how did that go?

I am not aware when we played Conference teams.

Cheeky Star??.

The problem is that some other supporters think they'd still have champs league places etc if Rangers and Celtic weren't in the league.

Wslger i agree and vant understand why they font go back to scottish players
They are getting pumped with journeymen with higher wages anyway
At least with scottish guys they would have sellable assets.
