On the 'handball' that was / wasn't.
Collum didn't think it was a deliberate handball.
Dermot Gallagher on Sky ref watch didn't think it was a penalty.
Jay Boothroyd on Sky ref watch also didn't think it was deliberate hand ball for a penalty.
Loads of people did think it was a penalty.
The issue that Rangers have was the leak 30 minutes later that Sima was offside.
This with all intents and purposes looks as if Collum was then trying to cover his arse over the original decision that he might have then felt he got wrong.
There is also footage that shows the exact moment the ball leaves Lundstram's boot and Sima is on. Though I have only seen a still picture online.
Only Collum knows why he never gave a penalty.
Only Collum knows why he decided to release an offside picture of the same incident 30 minutes later as it had no relevance to his original decision.
And knowing the SFA, I'm not sure we will ever know the correct facts.

Collums position is unsustainable and I expect he’ll be fire or resign with immediate effect before the end of this season.

He simply is a cheat who can not be trusted to be neutral.

Doesn't need to be a deliberate handball to be a pen anyway. Souttars a prime example. The fact is Collum didn't want to give it at Celtic park, he also didn't want it to be the equalizing goal. He's a cheat and has been found out big time but nothing will happen to him so we move on. We will strengthen in this window and should use their captains and managers words to fire the team up for the next one incase they need extra motivation! They need to be brought back down to earth so it's time for rangers to step up to the plate and show them for what they are.

Stinks of C.V. voting (Dundee) all over again. Who holds SFA accountable, shocking.

Considering there’s debate whether or not Sima was offside due to him not interfering with play tells us is a grey area to say the least. Too many views talking about intentional. I thought intentional was no longer the deciding factor, natural position was. Or was Souttar intentional V Killie.

I think it’s good we’re making a point of it because two big decisions against us in the old firms this year but nothing can be done now so players, managers and fans can concentrate on the next game and let the media and directors make the point and plant the seed. We’re not accepting another in the next game! Just like the Celtic media has done so, continuously pointing out penalties to Rangers or referring decisions on the build up to games for example.

What rubbish, doesn’t need to be deliberate.

I said this on Sunday night, rangers r very conce How the released footage and timing came about.

7.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 12:54:04
Are the rules not clear, deliberately and in a unnatural position. so 2 out of 3.was a penalty. yes going back to offside but the fact that wasn't even checked is shocking.

8.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 13:00:03
If it was offside then why was a goal kick given?

9.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 13:08:05
I reckon Collum turned a blind eye because Johnstone was already on a yellow card and deliberate hand ball could've meant he walked as well as conceding a.

04 Jan 2024 13:17:14
Didn't see the incident live, and a lot written about it. I was listening to bbc live commentary, they never mentioned any offside, and they said their explanation of no penalty was that whoever var was said there was no deliberate movement of hand towards the ball? It looks deliberate, if subtle, on the replays, and I was puzzled that there was no corner given either?

11.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 13:28:13
The angle from behind the goal line shows it’s a pen everyday of week, if he does not hit it with hand then Sima is chesting it down, Gollum bottled it then after hearing everyone on Sky including Lennon say it was a pen looked for a way out with the offside, he lied end of.

12.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 13:31:12
MPH any chance you could post that image? i haven't seen it mate?

13.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 13:57:18
MPH you make a good point that has been ignored, when the lines were drawn showing Simas heel offside the ball had actually left Lundstrams boot . It was done to prove something that was wrong. According to IFAB he wasn`t offside anyway as he did not touch the ball and made no attempt to do so, in fact he was coming away from goal not towards the ball. He had no influence on the cross and got involved in the next phase of play. Collum should have stuck to his wrong decision and while we all have been angry, we would not have felt this level of cheating had gone on as they try to cover it up.

14.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 14:02:56
Baxter it was a by kick because they never gave the pen that’s why offside was given. They didn’t need to look back at the passage of play.

MPH where can we find this photo as I have looked for footage.

15.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 14:07:17
I've been banging on about this since the game, mph. It's fairly obvious that they realised they had effed up with the pen incident and then tried to conjure up a potential offside on Sima by moving the film on a couple of frames from the moment the ball left Lundstram's boot. I've seen a picture of the still the moment it does leave the boot and I'm in no doubt that Sima was indeed onside. Interesting that the audio is still not available for this despite Rangers pressing for it to be made public. The whole thing just stinks up the place.

it is clear and simple cheating of the highest order. fact.

How anyone can say that its a natural position for a player to throw their arm towards the ball and hit it out of play is hilarious. Souttars arm was actually in a "natural" position when sliding to block the cross and the penalty was still given.
There was a goal disallowed in our Europe game when the ball was bouncing and the ball brushed Borna's hand ever so slightly, he crossed the ball in and i think Kent scored but goal was disallowed.

Also the picture shown for the offside was at least 1 or 2 frames after Lunny had played the ball so Sima was onside, or did Sima ever touch the ball before it was handled out of play.

What i haven't heard anyone talk about is Johnstones challenge on Dessers when Dessers should have scored.
Dessers is about to pull the trigger when Johnstone throws himself in front of him and Johnstone never touches the ball but takes Dessers out.
Yet in the previous Old Firm game when Dessers steps in front of the Celtic defender and takes the ball and Roofe then scores. that was disallowed. How can that be? if it is a foul there then how is it not a foul now?

No to mention the booking that Celtic players should have but never got given.
Sterling gets booked for a wee tap on OReilly (lil bit of blood, man up) yet Johnstone gets nothing for elbowing Sima in the face and Sima then having to get subbed off

Also see loads of Tims saying how good McGregor was and how he bossed it. I barely seen McGregor out of his own half or do anything that would make me think he bossed the game etc.

Not to mention how Celtic fans are telling us to get over it blah blah blah yet they have been crying about our penalties and lack of conceding penalties for god know how long. the hypocrisy is outrageous.

I would have taken the draw on the day but still feel raging about the bias and inconsistent decisions.

Anyway rant over LOL.

I'll have a search tonight.

The guys always been a cheat, as soon as I found out he was on var I feared the worst. He shouldn’t be allowed to ref another rangers game.

20.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 15:02:36
We are beginning to sound like that mob. A decision went against us (maybe, maybe not) . Let’s move on. We had enough chances and enough mistakes if put right to win the game.

21.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 15:36:10
The IFAB rule is the one that counts. Sima wasn’t offside. It was a penalty. It was a second yellow for the wee Canadian. Neither will be given, nothing will be done, however we should keep pressure on the SFA / SPFL.

22.) 04 Jan 2024
04 jan 2024 15:44:58
this isn't finished yet, collum cheated simple as that, mike dean said at half time that's a clear pen, lennon couldn't believe it, nor could anyone else, the ball didn't just land on johnstons hand, he actually flicked it out of play, i can assure you right now collum, and his pal clancy, two big celtic fans, will be wishing they had never shown that alleged offside pic all that time later, they would have been better saying nothing and allowing us all to consider then incompetant and biased, instead of proving it.

23.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 15:59:37
Agreed Ally, I just don't get the hype with McGregor. Thought Sterling was much more involved in the game and just a better player imo. The boss appears to think so too going by his post match comments!

24.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 16:39:51
Dado he would need to have a conscience in order for him to resign.

25.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 16:47:48
Ask those same refs if sputters was a penalty or ask them was cloaks one vs hibs a deliberate handball

Rule needs changed . At this point I’d be happier with if it hits your hand it’s a penalty deliberate or not just tough luck . that’s how frustrating hand ball is at the moment.

26.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 16:57:00
Send him off then.

27.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 17:48:37
We don’t sound like that mob at all, this isn’t a conspiracy. We got beat fair enough and they scored 2 good goals I can accept that. I can’t accept officials making things up as they go along though. Big Phil is right to complain after game. I’m backing out manger here. Fair is fair.

28.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 16:34:34
Wsl he was stopping the Celtic player from playing the ball so he was offside he was interfering with the play. A lot need to take blue tinted specs off with that.

29.) 04 Jan 2024
04 jan 2024 18:19:15
the point is still being missed then, why not show var, at the time.

30.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 18:59:26
If he had not try to get out of his decision with the offside reason half n hour later then this would not of happened, the problem is he LIED and because he has there is a reason for it, you do not lie to cover an innocent honest decision you have made, this has nothing to do with us not getting a pen anymore.

31.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 19:18:15
Storm how can it be a by kick because they never gave the penalty, the ball went out off the celtic players hand, at the very least it was a corner.

32.) 04 Jan 2024
04 Jan 2024 21:04:03
