I hope Gio sticks Alfredo up front, Colak is a good goal scorer but he doesn't have the qualities that Alfredo brings. Won't be a game where we create many chances but what we do need is for the ball to stick up top long enough for our midfield to engage. Truthfully all eleven need to be on it from the get go, fully focussed at all times, Liverpool are not at their sparkling best at the moment but we all know that they are a super team. Delighted to see the Gers involved in these sort of games.

A lot of people are disagreeing with this, but this is exactly what i think too.

2.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 08:47:10
Absolute nonsense. Colak is scoring goals while Morelos sits on the bench. Right now, Colak is by far the better option and must start up front against Liverpool if we are to have any chance.

3.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 09:21:01
Dothebouncy maybe scoring goals but we are far better team with Morelos in it, we will see who gvb plays tonight I just hope he starts Morelos.

4.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 09:51:55
I see where your coming from but but I look back to the Napoli game and I think if Colak is on the end of that cross 30 seconds in its 1-0 rangers. Morelos offers more but not as clinical. You said yourself we won’t get many chances so when we do we need to bury them.

5.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 10:16:14
How are we a better team with Morelos in it? Because he comes deep and messes up easy passes lol.

6.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 10:31:48
Kris Boyd used to batter in goals in the league but due to lack of hold up play, willingness to fight for things, running and mobility he never really featured in Europe. Colak would not give us the same hold up as Morelos who will create whereas colak relies on service. We can't afford the luxury of fielding someone who waits for the play to come to him as Liverpool are far stronger than us or spfl teams. William hill have us 18/ 1 and I seriously think we can get a win but we will need a team selected that will take part in the full game.

7.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 10:46:20
I'm of the thinking that this game probably will suit morelos more than colak ? Having said that colak only needs that one chance and it will be in the back of the net ?He very rarely misses on one on ones ?.

8.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 10:50:11
Bassey1 my opinion we are a far better team with Morelos in it also feel gvb feels the same.

9.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:18:36
How can we be a far better team with buff but score far fewer, if any, goals?

10.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:29:08
You just don't get how a team works coldo.

11.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:35:07
Of course I do GVB that's why I told you Colak is our number 1 striker.

12.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:35:50
Colak is miles ahead when it comes to composure in front of goal. But he lacks the ability Morelos has to bully defenders and link up play.

13.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:35:56
If Gvb feels the same gvb then why does Colak start?

14.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:39:19
Is this the new excuse for Buff "we are a better team, he bullies defenders and links up play". Last year it was the "new role" patter.

15.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:46:19
Alfredo starts this game all day long. They are both different strikers this game won’t suit colak. IMO.

16.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 11:56:20
Gvb is the man how did you come to the conclusion that gio prefers freddo to colak?

17.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:03:04
Coldo we will see who gvb goes with tonight okay.

18.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:08:56
When expecting to have the majority of the ball and play most of the game in the other teams half Colak is an excellent option, he's proved it domestically and against lesser teams in Qualification.

But that's not the game we're likely to be playing tonight.

Its far more likely that Liverpool will have most of the ball and that we will be playing on the break. We don't need a striker who can score goals inside the 18 yard box as much as we need a striker who can occupy 2 CB's and get us up the park as the first phase of breakouts.

Morelos is much better than Colak at that. Colak is actually pretty poor at it (it's not his game) .

That's why Morelos will (or at least should) start.

Its a catch 22 with Colak. He needs the ball in the box to be effective but to get the ball in the box based on the type of game it will be he's shown against better teams he's not that striker. So having him in there means we're less likely to get the ball to where it needs to be for him to be effective.

19.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:10:03
I don't think it'll matter given th3 opposition we are up against. I think we will be doing well to keep it respectable.

20.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:11:19
If gvb feels the same why doesn’t he play Alfie? You can’t compare kriss boyd to colak as colak is twice as fast and much more mobile.

21.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:12:56
A would give Colak 60 mins then bring Alfie on.

22.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:23:58
He plays in all the big games and so he should bassey1.

23.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:26:02
It would be criminal not to start Colak who is in blistering form.

24.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:28:41
The chance Buff wasted v Napoli Colak would have buried.

25.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:50:33
Colak ( who I rate ) missed similar headers against Ajax and Celtic.
Though I do believe he would have connected with the other Morelos chance before half time against Napoli.

26.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 12:52:34
We need this to become and old fashioned cup tie with all blood and thunder and a lack of real quality football as they will just run amok. Morelos probably more suited to a battle but we need the defence and midfielders to win their battles first and foremost.

27.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 13:12:06
Let’s face it, if Morelos scored a Garrick in our next 5 games he would still not get the credit from the guru Coldo.

Same sh** different day has already seen one of the best contributors leave the site - many more to follow.

28.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 14:47:09
People need to man up if they are leaving a site because someone doesn’t agree with them. Morelos is strong as a ox but is sometimes wasteful and goes is huffs. Colak not as strong obviously but is as clinical a striker rangers have had in years. Both good options.

29.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 15:09:39
Exactly Bassey. ?.

30.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 15:24:51
Morelos is yet to prove his fitness. Would be criminal not to start with Colak who is our best player atm. He will work his socks off first 60mins, then bring the Buff on.

31.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 15:42:10
Isn't it great to have 2 such capable and differing options!

32.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 16:10:36
Interesting comment Bassey?

Man up is what is missing - the conversation is more and more like a school playground with constant bickering, bleating, repetitive opinions and filled with fifa managers who do nothing but run the club down after any poor performance.

Those that enjoy this type of support will stay, others wont.

33.) 04 Oct 2022

Yet you still post DK?

34.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 17:05:39
It's the condescending replies, again, the same people leaving everyone without an opinion. honestly getting really boring listening to the same people shutting everyone down, is this not the reason you got hunted the last time coldo? full of cheek on this.

35.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 17:13:44
Very rarely now Coldo

What was for me an excellent site for Rangers supporters has been turned into a shadow of what it was.

I’m happy to let you run down everything Rangers (apart from Kent) and have your fun.

Enjoy.

36.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 17:21:31
Montyi agree good chance colak scores but also think we would struggle to get up the pitch with colak he's a pure penalty box player kinda the same problem we had with Kris boyd in Europe both great finishers but didn't bring enough to the team play and pressing ability.

Got to be Morelos and then maybe colak depending how game going at home colak could get the nod but away from home it's Morelos for me.

He will also be eager to impress premier League teams.

37.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 18:15:39
Don’t see how Morelos plays in the big games he’s barley started a game all season lol a never ran the team down after any defeats so speak for yourself mate.

38.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 18:16:34
Colak got us to the cl same way he dumped us out it with malmo stop comparing him to boyd.

39.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 18:25:34
He was only back in the squad a few days and started against Napoli did he not bassey1.

40.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 18:28:59
we need someone to keep us high up the pitch tonight, morelos can hold up play and move ball around, this isn't in Colak's game, that's why he had 2 touches on saturday resulting in 2 goals, we aren't going to get this opportunity against Liverpool, we need to try nd get our midfield involved, and for me that is obviously with Morelos. I seen someone saying that Colak wouldve finished the shot Morelos had against Napoli, but the facts are he wouldn't have been in the situation, I think if you could take both there best attributes to make a player, he would be world class.

41.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 18:47:07
And also bearing in mind either of them will be up against one of the best defenders in European football. IF we get chances we just need to hope whoever plays up front puts them away otherwise I feel its going to be a difficult night.

42.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 19:37:35
Morelos starts so that should shut up certain folk on here who think they know everything.

43.) 04 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 23:03:32
Colak got a chance tonight he didn’t score it.

44.) 05 Oct 2022
04 Oct 2022 23:20:02
At least got into the position to get a chance. Put saksla thru eith a lovely pass as well. Our front 3 much better with matondo colak sakala, not even a doubt about it.

45.) 05 Oct 2022
05 Oct 2022 00:29:52
That is because both Kent and Tillman were a disgrace.

46.) 05 Oct 2022
05 Oct 2022 02:33:14
And Liverpool were a different team the second half.

47.) 05 Oct 2022
05 Oct 2022 07:08:05
Bassey I don't see what's wrong with comparing Boyd to colak in team game sense

Was not comparing ability.

Also think your doing boyd bit of an injustice if you don't think he was good for us.

48.) 05 Oct 2022
05 Oct 2022 08:56:08
In my opinion, the decision to start Morelos cost us dear.

49.) 05 Oct 2022
05 Oct 2022 09:16:19
Boys was great for us.

50.) 05 Oct 2022

Boyd that was meant to say.

51.) 05 Oct 2022
05 Oct 2022 14:17:23
I agree gvb he averaged something like 2 goals in every 3 games.

GVB is an ex champions league winner who has played for the best team in world and captained them as well as his country in a World Cup final. He’s won the league in Holland with a feyenorod team who didn’t have the players or finances to match PSV or Ajax. He’s won a cup In Holland too. He’s learned from pep guardiola from his time at city and writing his plate it career has played under Advocaat, Wenger, Rijkaard, and Van Gaal.

For anyone to say GVB does not know the best way to set up a team to win or to be tactically aware of how to win a game is simply another “arm chair expert”.

The board are not giving him the money to purchase a higher level of player. So he’s working with a squad that is not up to CL level but I believe he still over achieves with them.

He’s made great signings. Lawrence on a free is the best.

We can now see Davies is going to be a good acquisition and we are seeing Ridvan starting to develop too.

3-4 million for a player these days is bottom of the barrel and that’s where he’s been forced to shop. And out of that I think he’s done really well.

Then add Colak. What more so we want?

He’s got players letting him down for sure. Kent and kamara don’t seem interested but I’m sure Gio knows what he’s dealing with and maybe he’s got to be patient to help either of them find their form again.

He’s playing youth - King, McCann, Devine and Lowry when fit. We’ve been crying out for that.

The league is totally winnable.

Let’s just pocket the finances from the CL and learn from it. The players will benefit from the experience.

Win the league. Get back in the CL. Get the money.

If we can keep that routine up our squad will slowly improve and whether the club is sold or not we will definitely be competing a lot more in Europe in a few years.

But people expect it now and that’s very unreasonable and unrealistic.

He wins the league this year and he’s been a huge success since coming in. Euro final. Scottish. Cup. League. In 2 seasons. On a restrictive budget. Give the guy a break.

Good post King Henry. What I would say is that we need to see a significant improvement in our Scouting. We will never be able to compete financially for proven players and as such we need to be capable of finding players that can come in and do a job from leagues in Eastern Europe, the Far East and Africa.
