Reading on line that Rangers have a one year option on Sterling, this would mean he is not out of contract till 2028. Gives us plenty time to see if he remains fit.
30 Sep 2026 14:18:01
Gives us options John, I personally would be hesitant with his injury history.

If he stays fit he's one of the first names on the team-sheet! Been one of our top performers so far. Fingers crossed his main injury worry is behind him now. He did state recently that it's been identified and hopes himself it's now a thing of the past.

That's a sensible approach John and I don't want to jinx him he has been fully fit and availble so far and is in fine form. He's still only 26 so he would 28 in his final year so if he keeps up the good form and stays injury free, a new contract could mean he's our long term right back.
I would be happy with that.
30 Sep 2026 14:55:02
He's been brilliant recently hopefully he stays fit.
30 Sep 2026 14:59:48
John, I read days ago he's contacted until 2028, signed an extension the summer of 2025, hopefully his last operation sorted his problems out, never been injured since.

Imo to get a new deal he needs to play at least 60% of games this season, 1 million is not a good wage for a player who was only fit for around 30% of games.
He is an asset if fit, would also save us 4 million on a back up playerv.
30 Sep 2026 18:22:41
NATO, I was the same however if he maintains his form and fitness levels he has shown he is an asset.
30 Sep 2026 18:50:53
Always showed great quality just needs to keep fit.
30 Sep 2026 19:01:09
To fair to him he stayed fit and played well now he's only being used as a right back.
30 Sep 2026 19:01:33
I have always been impressed with Dujon Sterling when he's been in the team. If he can keep himself fit, he will be a great asset to the team and club. Fingers crossed for the guy.

There is no doubt he is an outstanding asset for the club and I hope his injury troubles are behind him.
A fit Sterling benefits Rangers.
Activating the clause too early could well harm the club.
It is a fine balance, major risk assessment needed.
30 Sep 2026 20:04:00
I had pretty much wrote him off so seeing him playing so well is a real bonus. Hope he's injury free.
30 Sep 2026 20:45:51
Said it all along, Sterling, when fit is the best /strongest one v one defender at the club.
Although big Makhanya might have something to say about that this season.
Hopefully both can continue their rich vein of form after the international break.

Could Sterlings run of games and fitness,
POSSIBLY be that he jas stopped drinking due to his drink driving charge last season.
01 Oct 2026 08:22:36
That could be a valid point bomba. There's no doubt it affected his confidence last year.
01 Oct 2026 10:13:49
what, seriously how has drink driving got any reflection on his injuries on the park, are you suggesting he was/is an alcoholic?
01 Oct 2026 11:00:50
Not suggesting he is or was an alcoholic,
Purely suggesting that if he has cut alcohol out of his lifestyle, that could potentially help him.
01 Oct 2026 11:04:29
He's only asking the question Geesa, doesn't need to be an alcoholic for drink to have a negative effect on fitness. Especially someone who has a long history of problems. If he has stopped it shows a greater level of professionalism to take care for his body more seriously. Maybe it has given him a reality check about his career.
