What's the contract situation with Cortes? Is it an option to buy for Huracan as he starts every week he actually scored a free kick against river plate last week.

He's scored a few goals this season, seems he didn't settle in Europe, he's still only 22 years old, started off well before injury, think it was a big chuck of his fee Stevie, can't remember fully, but read a bit about his loan deal at the time, sure it was around 3m but a good sell on.

I think his loan run until January. There is a buy option at every window which increases £500k each window. Huracan cannot afford to pay any fee so will not make the move permanent. He is contracted to us until 2029 so we will be able to loan out to another club and hopefully they take him off our hands.

Looked to have bags of potential prior to his injury. Pity he hasn't fulfilled his early promise. I don't think he has any sort of a future with us. I doubt we'll get anything much for him. Injuries happen to most players, just really unfortunate (for the player & us) in this case.

I look at the difference on Gasamma with the way DM wants him to play and I think Cortes could benefit from it too, he looked excellent when he first came in, I know it won't happen but I wouldn't mind him sticking about for a few months to see if he could do a job, it'd be no lose for us.

we are, according to Huracan, only selling 50% of him so a 50% sell on fee; and of total price, not just profit. Cortes wants to play in Europe so around £1.5M upfront in the deal and then profit later seems a good deal by the recruitment team again for a player we don't want.

Well let's assume come the summer he's had a good season and his team can't afford him, he could get an offer from a club who can or. And a big or. He comes back to us and is gave a chance in preseason.

I posted roughly a week ago that cortes form at Huracan has been excellent, he has played nearly every game for them,
Predominantly as a RW and occasionally on the LW, he seems to excel more on the RW
The same position he has played at most clubs since his qualities got him a move from Millionarios to Lens in the French Premier League at 17/18, a quick check of his highlights at Huracan anyone can see he is playing the best football of his career since his break through seasons at Millionarios, his loan ends at huracan in time for the winter break,
He is a very direct attacker which suits McInnes style perfectly
And he tall and has superb pace, ball control, skill, seen him take overhead passes down on his chest ( while surrounded by 2-3 opposition players)
Chip the ball back up in the air over the player blocking the his attack channel and dummy the players in the opposire direction of his chip, then collect his own chip over and strip the defence cut in and score from outside the box, far better than Yokota whis out injured for a while, would be daft to throw away a quality young player with his abilities, can do it in a league that better and harder than ours, 3 mill would be a bargain for any buying team, bring him home and unleash him on the spfl as a RW and you will all see his true qualities.
EHL will be on to shoot me down again like last week, but the proof is there for all to see.
Personally i hope he returns to us, and tears the the spfl a new one to silence all his doubters, we have seen players in the current squad that were mince at the start of the season that we wanted rid off before the window closed, now they undetstand McInness style and ayatems they are now spoken of highly,
Cortes deserves the same chance, get him back in and watch him excel for us, his injury and form issues of past are long gone.
Boys a real talent now and would kick arse for us on the RW, can also play CAM / SS / LW.
Crazy we may spend 15 mill upwards on a loan to buy player, yet we may let a player whos form is much better leave for 1.5 to 3 mill.

Star the way I read the fee for the deal was confusing as it slightly increases every transfer window for the 3 he will be there. initially I thought we got it all which amounted to just over £3m but reading more closely the max we can get is somewhere over £1.8 (I think).

Curtis is contributing just now why would we get rid of him in the hope Cortes delivered?
Not against Cortes getting another chance but shouldn't be to the detriment of Curtis, who only has a year left and isn't likely to sign again if we pap him out on loan to get Cortes in.

Wishy I take you're point mate, from where I'm coming from mate Curtis loan would be for his benefit not detriment.
6 months starting every game as a forward would have him raring to go for next season and we'd have a better player than having him as a sub every week.
Once yokota is back he's going to struggle a bit for mins so my thinking was Curtis on loan, after signing a new deal, and let the yokota / Cortez and Gassama/ minsu battle it out
I do take your point however mate and it would be one to weigh up.

He’s not really had much chance to impress yet, let’s remember how negative we all were a few weeks ago when we are judging bounini lads eh?
Let him find his feet as hell struggle to break into this team for atleast a few weeks after the break.
The break will do him good and he can settle in and learn the weather and culture and get to know his way around the city and training ground and stadium.
I’m sure he’ll come good.
