Wasn't going to post this but I've been given permission (family member works in Ibrox). Derek mcinnes has had no say on these players been brought in except shankland and Devlin.
There is a toxic atmosphere inside Ibrox from the very bottom to the very top. So imo we get behind the gaffer, he will come good given time. Now we know why Gerrard turned down the job TWICE.

imo u identify the style u want to play, appoint a manager who plays that style.
Thereafter, you sign players who fit the style.
Thereafter, when a manager leaves, u replace manager who plays the style you have identified for the club.
Then we don't clear out 10 plus players every time.

I'd hope there would be something of a team decision for most signings. If Del had to focus on who to sign as well as fix the mess on the pitch, then you would think we were slowly moving back to Big Phil being the key decision maker for everything.
Also, if we give every manager the reins to the cheque book, we end up in the mess we are - with a team that has influences from Gerrard, Beale, Gio, Clement, RM and Rohl.

Agree with John regarding picking a style of play and bring in manager/coach that fits that style, and believe that was what was said at time of takeover. Unfortunately, don't think Martin/Rohl/McInnes play the same type of football, so been too much chopping and changing of players yet again.

Whilst I agree some signings look like DM had no say, he would most definitely not have had a say in LS signing, as that was a Rohl signing, and Rohl himself said he wanted Shanks.

Well said John, this is exactly what we should be doing, but it seems a long way from that.

They made a point of saying that McInnes was the manager, not first team coach, and the difference in the two roles is that a coach might just be told to coach the players they are given like Maresca was at Chelsea. I don't rate McInnes, but I can't see a manager like him taking a job where he has no say in the players coming in.
He has left a good job to come and risk getting sack due to players who don't fit how he wants to play. Doesn't sound right to me.

Managers usually don't pick the players that are coming in. If they want a lw, they will be presented with many options. There will be many parties involved, and they will pick the best option in regards to who they think they can get, wages, price and loads more factors.
Usually the manager has the final say, but does not always get the player they want for many reasons.
