I doubt it.
Nobody had matched the club's valuation earlier today, but two are close, and there are enough other interested teams that we're certain a deal will be done in the coming days. That's why he's not in the squad for tomorrow, we're not risking him with his ankle knock. There is ongoing interest from Spain, Italy, England and Germany.
And Turkey, but I suspect the player would prefer other options.
Our ask is £20m, almost EUR23.5m. Typical expectation is that a compromise is reached in the negotiation, but the number of sides interested might mean we get the full amount.

This Raskin thing is bugging my happiness.
Very confusing to hear that Raskin knows where he'll be playing next season, but there will be no bidding war, and then hearing no one's matched our valuation.
Now we know McInnes has come out and says he's been left at home due to transfer interest, so that kinda throws my theory out the window that he knows where he'll be playing because he's staying.

Raskin has no clue where he will be playing, as no club has matched his valuation, and he may well have a preference, but if that club doesn't match our value and someone else does then he will be away.
Wish it hadn't dragged on this late, as for me we 100% need to replace him asap. My choice would be Urgresic from Partizan.

Agree, Gazza. The Raskin knows where he'll be playing next season and will move after the World Cup is well put to bed as Bs 😂. He'll be going wherever someone puts the money up for him if he agrees to it.

He might well still turn out to be right.
A lot of dominoes fall at times for transfers, and it could be that the required dominoes needed for his preferred move have now fallen.
A lot of times, moves are agreed in principle weeks or even months in advance, so just because things are only happening now doesn't necessarily mean EHL is wrong.

Ehl is one of the best posters on this site. I respect him, and I'm very grateful for the info he shares. I look forward to his post and the information he's able to share.
I didn't say anyone was wrong. I said I'm confused, as there's different info out there and it's conflicting.
I'm sure it will all make sense by the end of the transfer window. It's OK to be confused 😉 and I'm confused but excited.

Turkey is a much more fancied league than a lot on here seem to think. I get the top 5 league thing, but only if it was a top5 team in one of those leagues. He'd get a higher wage at, say, Fenerbahce or Besiktas than he would at Roma or Sevilla. He'd also be fighting for silverware and playing European football, playing for a top Turkish club.
All the top 5 league teams interested will probably be mid-table teams with no European football and no chance of titles (apart from Villa). I could easily see him going to Fenerbahce and joining up with Lukaku and playing in this season's Champions League.

I'm not saying he is wrong either, but just stating that there is 100% no way a player knows where he will be playing, as there are always moving parts in transfers, and if the team he thought he was going to can't match our value, then it means we wouldn't sell him, but if another matches it, then he has to think about it if he doesn't want to stay here.
He can have a preference ofc, but that's about it.

Yeah Ugresic is away to PAOK Salonika for 8 million euros. Not sure if it's a done deal yet, but they have agreed a fee and he's travelled for a medical. Gutted about that, as one of the best young attacking mids about for a decent fee.
