See the lad Mbuyamba who we were linked with numerous times starts for LASK tonight - hope he plays a blinder!

Also, see Motherwell are linked with Swedish U21 International Kanga who has impressive stats and can play as a winger, forward or attacking midfielder (20 years of age).
Is this the type of player we should be looking at?
19 Aug 2026 21:31:04
Aye, a see he's played brilliant, that lot have certainly bought real talent. Wish we could, it's embarrassing at times, genuinely.

Ryan, I get what you're saying. We're absolutely miles behind them with quality players, it is embarrassing. Hopefully our luck changes soon.
19 Aug 2026 22:04:24
I hope we can find something to click, mate, I genuinely do.
19 Aug 2026 22:06:01
We obviously can't give up and need to keep fighting, but unless we get more quality in quickly, we are playing for 2nd unfortunately.
19 Aug 2026 22:14:24
This was never going to be a one window fix, lads, as pish as that is. They can add 5 starters, we are potentially adding 15/16 new players.
Win a cup or two, consolidate second, and hopefully next summer we only need 3/4 starters to come in and that's when we will see real progress.
19 Aug 2026 22:17:56
Hearts are flying under the radar. They've scored 11 goals in 3 games.
19 Aug 2026 22:22:07
Definitely lads, a supposed we need to accept we're building something and perhaps we could of already done that if Stevie G didn't jump ship or we stuck with a manager with a plan. But we march on.
19 Aug 2026 22:59:23
The constant upheaval in managers and player turnover has really set us back.
Having to buy 10 players a season is not what we should need to do, but last season was frankly a disaster.
6 or 7 loan players, some out of contract, and far too many not near the standard needed, so this summer it was always going to be a rebuild.
What we need now is to accept things are not going to be perfect straight away, give the manager the support he needs to field the best team he can on the park.
At this point, it does feel like things are coming together slowly but surely.
And, it would be nice to not see any more injuries any time soon, and maybe we can see a few games in a row with the same starting 11.
Needing to change 5 players per game is not ideal in building a team.
19 Aug 2026 23:17:00
It leaves the question. Why do we find ourselves in a position where we're having to sign 15/16 players Again?
20 Aug 2026 01:32:28
The squad needs to have time to settle and mesh over the next 2 to 3 years (I'm not saying that means we accept not winning anything), and then a max of 2 or 3 players added each window that are top quality and walk into the team and are the best in their position in the league.
Ideally, ones that can play in the system we build with a settled team.

My big concern with Hearts is Tony Bloom knows what he is doing. Our owners are learning on the job.
20 Aug 2026 07:06:23
Our constant changing managers season on season is definitely a contributing factor as we're never stable and it's continual upheaval of players changing all the time, we'll get nowhere with that continual trend. 🤔 I also agree, wishy, Derek McInnes can't fix all our wrongs in one transfer window and has to be afforded time to get the players he wants as long as we see improvement moving forward.
🤔 I think McInnes will get it right but he hasn't a magic wand and we'll have to suffer bumps in the road to get to where we all want us to be. 🤔 🇬🇧
20 Aug 2026 08:01:03
Because of the amount of pains we signed on loan last summer, Gazza, coupled with a lot of experienced players coming to the end of their cycle with us, Tav Butland etc.
20 Aug 2026 08:03:41
That upheaval also means our recruitment department and scouts are looking for and at 15-16 positions rather than being able to look for 3-4 in specific positions the manager wants. So, until we stick with a manager, even if we don't win the league, then we will continue to have to do that.
We also won't have the same cash to spend on the quality players as we will be spending some of it on the other 11 or so.

We're still paying the price for the board and their disastrous appointments and strategies last season. Even if they had made any good signings, with so many loans and out of contracts, we'd still have been needed at least 10 players before even thinking about selling others.
They've probably set us back 2-3 years. Can only hope from here on we're back on the road and McInnes does enough to prove he deserves time.
