Niko Raskin apparently on Newcastles radar with the outgoing Tonali and Guimares needing replaced with lower value targets.
My mate is a Geordie and says there's been rumours with both him and overrated Engels both being linked with his club.

I never thought I'd say this, but hurry up and go Raskin. EPL money is needed, and hopefully conditions for add ons in the sale.

Well, if that's true, then we should be getting the £30 million everyone wants, but if I'm being honest, think Gray & Bergvall will simply replace them.

Would be a good move for him. Here's hoping, I whatever his next step is sorted quickly so we can move on.

If this is true, it would be hilarious. The big question would be: do Newcastle pay both Rangers and Celtic the same transfer fee for each player? Both should be worth about the same amount in my opinion. If one of us got low balled, there would be outrage.

Welcome, mate. The more people that join, the better.

Newcastle had Raskin and Engles playing regularly in the EPL. I'm saying Newcastle would be fighting relegation.

06 Aug 2026 05:24:43
Aye, because Engels is pish!

Raskin is a fantastic player on his day but we don't see it enough.
Under Fergie he was outstanding for 5 months straight. He was consistent.
Last season you could use 1 hand to count how many good games he had.

It's definitely time for him to leave. It suits the club and Raskin, and I do expect it to happen. I just hope we get good money for him, and really hope it's soon.
We really don't want a full summer saga of it.

But every player needs others in the team to play around him as well. So he can only play as well as the sum of the parts. Look at his form with Belgium to see how he can play when others give him that platform.

So he will go to another team and thrive and will go with my best wishes. He has been one of our better players in his time with us.

But Ferguson was only manager for 3 months approx.

06 Aug 2026 09:44:15
Engles scores goals, and goals cost money. Narrative that he's p*sh because he's one of them is insane. Raskin and Engles in the same side would actually be a good foil to each other, in my opinion.

06 Aug 2026 10:21:27
I'm sure Raskin scored more from open play than him last season, Forza.

06 Aug 2026 10:24:38
Raskin tries to do too much at Rangers, and consequently does less. In a better team, like Belgium, he knows his role and concentrates on that.

My comparison is a stretch but Ancelotti said the same thing about Seedorf.

06 Aug 2026 12:08:18
Forza, scored penalties, you mean, how many has he scored from open play? That's me asking, because I haven't got a clue on him. I just couldn't watch his team play.
Newcastle had both Engles and Raskin in the midfield constantly; they'd be fighting relegation, in my opinion.

The Geodie's would be fuming with Raskin and Engles replacing Guimaraes and Tonali, so would I, players will have far less qualities.

Geesa, you're right, it's just that nobody wants to give credit to Clement, who was the manager when Raskin really found form, which continued into the Ferguson spell. In fact, Clement made Raskin captain for a couple of games, and he was outstanding.
