Danilo heading out on loan. Deal done.

Boomerang loans, they keep coming back. Best answer is buy better!

We have wasted an absolute fortune on duds over the last 5 years or so with very little return.

24 Jul 2026 12:37:21
I think it's harsh to call Daniel a dud. He was unlucky with injuries. There was definitely a player in him, not all transfers work out.

24 Jul 2026 12:43:55
Same thing happens with all clubs, Box to Box. All clubs sign players that don't work out. Danilo was just very unlucky with injuries at Rangers; he broke a bone in his face scoring a goal.
He has an obligation if he plays enough games. Can't see him returning this time, EastEnclosure.

90% of our transfers over the last 5 years have not worked out. That's why we have a rebuild every year. They are duds. Sorry if that offends, but it's the truth.

24 Jul 2026 13:11:01
That's our problem. Danilo say cost us what 8 mill with wages, Cortez how much hw cost us.
We have too much dead wood.

24 Jul 2026 13:16:29
Danilo was very unlucky with injuries - can't blame that on the club.

24 Jul 2026 13:18:47
From what I have heard, Danilo is being sent on loan, as the value we have placed on him, clubs don't want to pay, so he will be on loan to see out his contract.

24 Jul 2026 13:25:53
New, that won't happen if he plays the games required for the obligation to be met.
You'd think it was only Rangers loaning players out that didn't work.

24 Jul 2026 13:40:52
Danilo looked an excellent buy initially before he got that facial injury. He's then had constant problems since, and never looked the same player.

24 Jul 2026 13:50:46
Agreed, Goram.

24 Jul 2026 13:51:35
Sorry but even though I like Danilo and think he was decent before injuries I got to agree we have been shocking in the transfer market.

Some really poor decisions, loans with no solid options that were good all leave, and ones we do get solid options turn out to be rubbish.

24 Jul 2026 15:09:27
100% Danilo is a dud, doesn't matter about injuries, he isn't good enough.

24 Jul 2026 15:58:24
Was it not a facial injury? Sore one, perhaps, but how does that contribute to his footballing skills in the last few seasons? For the money and wages paid, he has 100% been a dud. Like many, unfortunately. Would personally be delighted if we recruited some proper scouts.

24 Jul 2026 17:14:36
Gms, exactly my thinking.

When we signed Danilo he had just won the Dutch league. He was scoring screamers in pre-season. He looked a great buy.

Those initial injuries, and the length of time he was out, took a lot out of him. He was visibly upset on the pitch back in January after scoring a goal because he knew he would be leaving afterwards.

He wanted to do well here. Last season he was at a mediocre Dutch team and couldn't cut it, so he is clearly not the same player we first signed.

The same thing happened with Hagi. Bad injury, long time out, struggles to come back. It's really unfortunate for these guys.

Agree, Rwc - spot on.
