I was told to put my money where my mouth is and stop just mentioning positions we were buying but to start mentioning names.
On friday I said VD would be with the squad come Monday or Tuesday. Now fair enough this is the second time a signing I was told has been delayed.
I can confirm 2 further things thanks to my good friend.
Derek has come in a pulled the plug on 2 players Rangers were about to get on a pre contract and didn't fancy.
Our next signing is a winger but not cerny.
You will be delighted to be told though that Cerny isn't that far away. Rangers have a specific tactic, that they will only pay what they think the player is worth.
Dahl i've been told the stumbling block is how much the parent club want for a sell on fee.

Neil, Devlin, Dragojevic & potentially Dahl are 4 interesting signings.
2 experienced signings on a free and 2 larger investments with clear potential to sell in the future.
I think we can assume Raskin, Diomande & Barron will be on their way out along with potentially Aasgaard.
I actually think there is a possibility that Lyall Cameron could be used in a wide role.

Dahl is exactly what the club are after. From a player trading model he could possibly make the club millions with a future transfer.
I was told early last year, they have used the same analysis as Chermiti.
I honestly don't know how much Derek wants Dahl, but the club would love to get this over the line.
I want to assure you all, money is not the issue or wages with these transfers. It's agents and clubs for percentage for future sell on that holds so much up nowadays.
Rangers, trust me, have a bucket of money and are willing to spend unlike other clubs.

Hope the pre-contracts don't go & smash it somewhere else. We have rich owners, but FFP/PSR stops us spending, & the owners do want us to be stable & making money.

Seems our biggest blocker at the moment is outgoing players.
A lot of frustration in the camp as we have now seen 3 targets move elsewhere, all defensive, as we are waiting on our outgoing players before we can commit to the deals.
Before anyone posts to say we have budget, yes we do, but this is tied up in 2 other deals we've been working on.

Bit of a concern on our defensive targets going elsewhere. Would it make sense to choose a defensive signing over another midfielder? Or do we need to move a defender out first, ie Souttar / Sterling, before we can replace?
We need some quality defenders in pronto.
