I see it's reporting in the record online not long ago that lewis Ferguson transfer possibly to Rangers has been accelarated by Derek McInnes and Ferguson has been told that McInnes is the perfect manager to get him back on track. ???

I don't know where this 'not a starter' rubbish has come from. Yes, he was on bench more often after his injury, but he played 45 times for Bologna with 33 starts. They have a decent squad. He was returning from injury, so he didn't start every game. He is also their captain, which doesn't sound like there is an issue. Jeez.

Ferguson played and captained in all 14 of Bologna's Europa League games last season, played in and captained them in 27 out of 38 league games, the games he missed out on were against the lesser teams. He had a thigh strain at the start of the season, missing a few games, then a calf strain mid-season. He missed a couple of games due to a suspension also. His manager at the time (Vincenzo Italiano) stated the games he was missing were due to conditioning because of niggling injuries, not because of ability.
Now Domenico Tedesco has been appointed Manager, and he, along with the board, are desperate to keep him at the club. He's been offered a wage increase thought to be putting his wages up to the EUR40, 000 (£35, 000) mark! I can't see him turning down those sort of wages to join us. Boyhood fan or not, he has a young family to think about, and playing football is a short career. Unless we offer him at least £30, 000 to £35, 000 per week it isn't happening.

I put his stats up weeks ago, and he only started 12 games in the league or something like that, but started 90% of Europa games for them. I don't think he started 33 games for them last season, but could have checked the wrong site.

I honestly can't say I pay much attention to it. But did hear his dad say on Open Goal that he was in and out the side now and may look to move on.

I wouldn't be so sure, MPH, regarding Lewis Ferguson, mate. ? Conflicting stories I'm hearing, ie. the deal is in the pipeline for after Scotland finish in the World Cup, and I have others telling me that it's not happening.
? My own thoughts are I definitely wouldn't rule it out, and there's absolutely been dialogue between Rangers and Ferguson's agent, sounding this out, of that there's no doubt. ?

For me, a season long loan makes sense for Ferguson, especially if he's not going to play as much this season for Bologna.
I don't know his situation, but if he is going to feature, he could stay where he is. Rangers will probably be an option every season for Ferguson, like it seems to have been for Kenny McLean.
