Speaking to someone immediately close to the situation. No confirmation that DR is away 100%, but I can suggest that if what I've heard is true then McInnes is a real possibility.

For the record, I'm not keen on him or SG, but it seems that DM wouldn't be a hard deal to do. Not overly delighted about this but I have close friends who would be keen on either.

Cheers for update, Ibrox, appreciated. ???

If Rohl does leave I would like someone like McInnes or Oliver Glasner or Kjetil Knutsen. But I know we will probably end up with someone like Gerrard.

12 Jun 2026 20:52:27
Would take Gerrard before McInnes everyday of the week, wee played some good stuff under Gerrard and got better each year, he needed backed, that was all.

Doughieboy, we were on track to finish worse off in his 2nd season than in his first. His 3rd Celtic completely imploded and he lost 2 cup competitions to St Johnstone. He absolutely was backed, so this idea that he wasn't backed is just untrue.

You only have to look at how Aston Villa have done since they sacked him to see how poor of a manager he is. Grateful for 55 but never again.

Glasner never knocked back a new deal with Crystal Palace to come to Scotland. He's going to AC Milan or another big club in a much better league.

Knutsen is onto a good thing where he is. He's most likely been offered many jobs in the past and stayed put, as he's done very well there for a long time.

McInnes will be allowed to leave Hearts for compensation. Bloom has let many managers leave Brighton. His model does not rely on the head coach to work, as Brighton's consistent form over 3/4 coaches shows.

This is Gerrard managerial states so apert from us it's not been the best Win Percentage.

Rangers - P193 - W125 - D42 - L26 - WP 64.8%
Aston Villa - P40 - W13 - D8 - L19 - WP 32.5%
Al-Ettifa - P59 - W23 - D16 - L20 - WP 39.0%.

12 Jun 2026 21:21:43
McInnes would be a safe option for me.

12 Jun 2026 21:22:52
If Rohl is away, McInnes is the solution for me. Unfinished business with Celtic & mon.

12 Jun 2026 21:23:03
NewIbroxStorm, you're not putting McInnes in the same class as Oliver Glasner or Kjetil Knutsen?

12 Jun 2026 21:39:13
I love Gerrard for that one title, but he's done absolutely nothing since he left us.

McInnes, why. One good season with Hearts - bottled at the end. Average with Aberdeen, better with lesser teams.

Muscat. Don't get it. Done okay in an Asian league, but don't see the clamour for him.

I don't have an option to present, but I'd like a different list from the pre-Martin and pre-Rohl times. We need a fresh attitude, not someone who once had a link with us. There's knowing the size of the job, and the club, but with that also comes preconceived ideas.

New, fresh, start.

BobbyMck, no I am not putting him in the same class. These are just 3 managers that I rate, with similar play style, and know how to get the best from players and find some gems as well. I know the manager does not choose the players, but he will have a say as they need to fit into his style.

13 Jun 2026 02:01:30
The only play style I care about is winning.
