While I don't agree with the majority of McCoist's signing policy, I thought Boyd would do a turn for us this season (Miller I wasn't so keen on). He's missed chances, but I think the midfield have let him down badly.

However, it is time to move on, and I wish him well if he's off.

midfield have NOT let Boyd down, Boyd has let us all down! from what I can remember of Boyd this season he could EASILY be on 20 goals or very close to it, if and this is a big if, he wants so FAT AND LAZY, how many times has he missed from 6 yards this season? how many times has he refused to jump for a header, how many times has he been offside because he's walking back from an attack we had 45 seconds previous to him being offside? Don't blame the Rest of the team for the likes of Boyd and Miller not doing what they are paid for, miller spits the dummy out all the time and Boyd is fat and lazy, miller runs after the ball(he's always a good 2-3 yards behind it no matter what) and then moans as he's pointlessly chased their defence when we don't press the ball until they are in our half(shows poor fitness) everyone is getting on at the likes of Law, Hutton, Murdoch, Clark, when in reality they are having to carry TWO dead weights every game! Clark played 20 minutes through the middle on Tuesday and scored twice. Gallagher has scored more goals for Cowdenbeath in the league this season than boyd has for us in all Competitions, Don't even bother playing the rest of the team for Boyd not being good enough! he's fat and lazy. blame that on management all you want but these are PROFFESIONALS they shouldn't need someone to hold their hand and tell them to hit the gym or to train. I'm not sticking up for the management, far from it, but Mohsni and Faure hit the gym all the time to improve their fitness why can't the other boys do it? big Jig is constantly in the wrong position and still hasn't been removed for his pathetic performances. it's time we all realised we have a SPL quality side that needs 3 new faces to it to be up their with most SPL sides. we'd easily finish top half with 3 new faces in that squad, Ally was NEVER the man for the job.

2.) 19 Mar 2015 14:12:21
Onlyshowaround, so you don't Think k the midfield has been awful, black, law, shiels, etc. Create absolutely nothing and they don't defend or anything it's there job to create. The don't. You do t create you don't score

3.) 19 Mar 2015 14:49:04
you mean a midfield that can't pass It forward as miller is always out of position and fatty Boyd isn't on the move? yeah I can see your point about that midfield they really are terrible!(sarcasm) Boyd has had so many chances to score, it's not the midfields fault that fatty can't score. he's had to many chances that the midfield must have given up on him. the game against Alloa proved that. he was pathetic.

4.) 19 Mar 2015 16:51:35
Really so maybe the fact that the midfielders get the ball launch a high ball straight down the middle 85% of the match is boyds fault? You obviously don't watch the match when your there or you don't know which player is which.

5.) 19 Mar 2015 18:36:40
I'd like to jump in here and say your both right. Both midfield and forward line have been utter $h!t€

6.) 19 Mar 2015 18:48:59
We have been poor all over the park and it's not down to just 1 or 2 players. Unfortunately there has been about 18 or 19 players who have been poor. It will be interesting to see who gets player of the year as for the first time I can remember no one deserves it

7.) 19 Mar 2015 19:41:10
Player of the year Lewis McLeod lol

8.) 20 Mar 2015 09:26:05
Ceexxx I've been to every game this season, and it's always the same excuses from fans!, law is terrible, hutton is useless. when in reality they've lost confidence in the strikers to actually give them the service, boyd doesn't fight for the ball, he expects in right on his head. even when he gets that service it's right at the keeper, or hit over. stop protecting the old guard and realise we would be a lot better off without Boyd and Miller.

9.) 20 Mar 2015 11:26:46
Why the lol after the only candidate for player of the year even though he left 3 months ago? Quite simply no other contenders

10.) 21 Mar 2015 09:04:08
Only show around, actually I think Hutton is a very useful player to have willing to put his body in where others won't but the others around him aren't the same they would risk getting hurt they would rather just let the other team win a 50/50! Law is absolutely dire, namouchi was better.

Never like to see anyone lose their job but i'm afraid this was a long time coming wonder if he will tell what he knows about goings on at Ibrox or does he know what's coming. Ps rf sorry for your loss.

2.) Maybe he is implicated in Greens takeover, but who cares, he's gone yippee, a great result for Rangers, 3 years too late but a great result non the less.

If only. :)

Mind you, there's still the question of who'd replace him. Defoe has been great, but we'd still need another option. Even with €45 million (and no, I'm not saying that's what he'd go for, but we're silly talking) who would you be able to tempt to the SPFL in a January transfer window? Can't imagine the list of quality strikers would be long.

Hummel would, you expect, have done some due diligence before signing the deal. OUr troubles with SD weren't exactly secret. I have no knowledge, insider pals, or other source BUT I would expect that there will have been a clause in the Hummel contract to deal with this situation.

We have had some pretty awful contracts in the past, set-up by folk who did not have Rangers interests at heart, but you can't say that of DK.

On the incidents:

McKenna - clear movement towards Morelos so, red card for me.
Morelos - Left his foot hanging in a 'sensitive' area. No clear stamp, BUT, not completely innocent either. Soft, but as mentioned previously, gave the ref a decision. Needs to take this out his game. (PS rolling about afterwards was a bit shameful) .

McGregor - From a Goalkeepers Union perspective, I'm okay with this. He's come out, protecting himself on the floor and given the striker the option to challenge or pull out. No card, no foul.
Ferguson - That's retaliation for me AND it's close to the keepers head. Correct that he should be carded.

Rangers Pen - Hint of offside, but play the whistle and arm in an unnatural position. Penalty
Aberdeen Pen - Bit of arms everywhere on both sides, but player goes down under the challenge and if it was reversed I'd want it. Happy that was the right decision too.

That's my tuppence worth. :)

McGregor was the exception and, if I remember correctly, that was pretty much done prior to SG taking over. Simply because he knows our club doesn't make it a good signing. We might not have seen the (proposed) Bosnians, but I'm sure SG, or his scout, will have. Like I said, can we fault his recruitment so far? I also didn't mention the Bosnians specifically - there may be other options.

£750k, while not necessarily a massive fee, is significant for a guy over 30, with little resale value. While a third striker is needed, will Lafferty be prepared to sit on the bench? Will he bump Morelos and Sadiq down the order and if so that, for me, is not good for the longer term. Or will he play him out of position? I don't think so.

I'm aware this is a divisive issue, but I believe at that kind of money it's the wrong choice.

Lafferty has had his time at Rangers, and yes he was good. Yes he scored more goals against them than anyone, but I'd still rather Stevie G went for someone else.

I don't think Lafferty is the answer; I think SG can find better players out there. He's proven he can do that so far.

With every new manager of recent times there's been a clamour for old players returning. No. let's move forward.

You could argue that they've been done by VAR in all three games, although technically both decisions last night were correct. Extra time, however, was not.

That said, what's cost them the game last night was poor poor defending from a strong and comfortable position.

There are some technically gifted players there, but the game looked and felt very scrappy/ bitty with a lot of loose balls. Scotland had an opportunity at 3 up to simply keep position and play it around.

Overall, and I haven't watched a lot of the tournie, the women's game has clearly made strides, but there's still some way to go IMHO.

I might be the only one so far that doesn't think that's a stonewall penalty. Worrall has his arm across him, but there's no grab and certainly no reason for Brophy to go down. The fall is theatrical and I think that's cost him. He had Worrall beaten and should've just kept going.

As the for the Killie keeper, I wasn't sure about it last night, but I've seen it again this morning and I'm now certain it was deliberate, so correct decision for me.

Clarke's comments will only get him into trouble, but that's not for us to worry about.

Morelos, Candeias and Kent were fab last night, and Kamara too looks very assured and comfortable.

I think SG has shown that Defoe is ahead of Lafferty in the pecking order already. I'd expect Defoe to come in.

That said, but the letter of the law, I expect him to get off.

While I think the CL point is certainly a wee bit too far, you only have to look at Germany with RB Leipzig now 6 points clear. Do I think they'll pump £500 million into us like a Man City saviour, no I don't, but do they want a work in progress, that needs investment, in a worldwide recognised brand within a captive market - that's always a possibility.

Any investment at this stage is worth considering and I think their input would be substantial, and enough to get us quickly challenging Celtic and into Europe (although not winning the CL next year) .

Charli3, I have to agree.
Easedale and his proxies seem to control everything, but we've no idea what he wants out of it. The club needs money, that is not in doubt, or it will fold again. There is nothing left for them to take (in monetary terms) that cannot be gained by selling the shares. What is the end-game for these guys??

I also agree with lee below and really do believe the Sarver bid was genuine and that he would have been great for us. I don't know if any fans out there (RST/UOF, etc) have any contact with King/3 Bears (or ever Sarver) but can we not get these three round the table (is that not what Sarver wanted) and some up with some strategy.

How can they knock back a takeover bid, in the best interests of the shareholders when there is no immediate prospect of a cash injection?

As usual, more questions than answers.
