Youssef Chermiti Looks to be heading out the door at Rangers £22.5M with add ons up to £26m

Rangers are looking at bringing in Joel Piroe as the replacement.

07 Jun 2026 14:04:50
Where's this coming from?

07 Jun 2026 14:09:45
As much as I would like to see what he achieved next season, that would be good business all round for us.

07 Jun 2026 14:17:08
Piroe and Shankland would be the most immobile strike force I've ever seen. Hope this is not true.

07 Jun 2026 14:37:47
Wishy, Shankland is in no way immobile, mate, and his clever movement and game intelligence more than makes up for his lack of genuine pace. ???

07 Jun 2026 14:40:16
Have you info in which club Chermiti is possibly going to, AyrshireTattooist? ?

07 Jun 2026 14:49:19
Some of Rangers' best strikers and players had no genuine top end pace, all about game intelligence, composure and decision making.
McCoist
Boyd
Novo
Cooper
Dodds.

The strongest reported interest appears to be from Galatasaray, Porto, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven and Besiktas.

To me, if any of the clubs mentioned, I reckon it would be Porto or PSV.

07 Jun 2026 15:04:18
I wouldn't be selling him.

07 Jun 2026 15:50:20
I would happily keep Chermiti another year, but I reckon we simply can't turn down that sort of money for any player. If we sell, we will need another young striker of similar profile.

Piroe will not be joining us. He literally turned down the chance to stay with Leeds and not play.

07 Jun 2026 15:57:41
If Rohl wants to play the pressing game, which is reported, then Shankland and Piroe are not the forward line we will have. It is the weakest part of both their games. So, if we play Shankland, then the other player needs speed to play the press.

07 Jun 2026 16:04:50
Chermiti is probably the best striker in Scotland. Yet, many of our fans are desperate to see him leave. Strange stuff.

07 Jun 2026 16:09:28
If it's a Scottish record fee, he will go this summer.

Good luck to him if he does. 22.5m won't be a fee that would see us sell. Higher.

07 Jun 2026 16:48:38
If true (not doubting but nothing is official), I would like to see a 20% sell on, as he is only going to improve with time. I think if we kept him until next season, and he continues the progression he has been doing, we could easily get a Scottish record fee north of £30m.

However, we do need money to strengthen some areas and if it means we need to, then okay.

07 Jun 2026 17:21:53
Walter, it's not a criticism of Shanks, it's just a fact. He's got many many attributes that make him a great striker, speed and ability to press aren't at the top of the list, mate.

07 Jun 2026 17:31:20
If it's the price OP posted, then 100% he goes, for far too long we've held onto players when their stock was at their highest and came to regret it.

07 Jun 2026 18:04:14
If true, then he isn't going to PSV or Feyenoord. PSV would have to pay double their highest ever purchase of 15mil euro, and Feyenoord would be paying 3 times their highest ever purchase of 9mil euro! Can't see that happening. Which leaves Porto, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Besiktas as the other interested parties.

I personally think he'd play in Turkey, but the opinion of most on here is that he'd never play in Turkey and is too good for the Super Lig. Which then would leave only Porto as his destination.

07 Jun 2026 18:31:10
They'll be laughed at for that price. £30m is the valuation.

07 Jun 2026 19:18:20
He's 21 and still developing. £25 million and £5 million add-ons, 10-20 percent sell-on would be good.

07 Jun 2026 20:45:24
No probability about it, Rohl, Chermiti clearly is the best cf in Scotland.

08 Jun 2026 06:37:09
Chermiti is an extremely talented striker with more to come. ? If he starts scoring, shall we see the easier chances then, imo, this young striker could play in any Europe's top leagues with some of the top clubs within those leagues. ? I just hope we can keep him for one more season. ???

08 Jun 2026 12:44:56
Keep Chermiti until he's called up to Portugal. We will have the benefit of another season and top top price on sale. No brainer.
