Been told that The board love Rohl and he's going nowhere.
Also that Dan Neil is a done deal, and Watt from well looks likely.
We shall see.

He has at best been average while out on loan this season. Not much to be excited about, real mixed reviews from the town fans to.

We need a coach that knows what a dancer is, that's a player who runs up to the man with the ball, stops 4ft from him, then does a wee dance in front of him [ Altman, Olsen, Gassama etc etc ] while he looks around to see who he can pass it to.
We need a coach who watches the opposition centre half walk the ball all the way from his 18 yd box into our half before someone goes to him and stops it happening.

Hopefully not, I was half up for the idea of Neil in Jan, but he hasn't impressed me much in a decent Ipswich side. Maybe slightly unfair considering he barely had any game time before the loan.

Reggie, the message has been clear in Old Firm games now for a couple of years to let Liam Scales have the ball. We very rarely press him. The reason is that he's not very good with it and often gets sucked into making the straight pass or going long and surrendering possession.
If Djiga and Tavernier did their jobs properly, then the simple ball over the top which he played is getting dealt with easily.

I've heard the same regarding Dan Neil
13 May 2026 10:48:34
No way they will sack him. Only way he's leaving is if he gets an offer from elsewhere and wants to leave.

We've gone from the Danish boy Andersen, to the Koln guy, to Dan Neil, another EFL player. Have we not learned our lesson with these guys? If he can't get a game in the EPL with Sunderland, and hasn't started much for Ipswich in the Championship, maybe he isn't what we need either.
We are still shopping in the bargain bins, and wasting money on loans and signings that just aren't good enough. Never mind the manager going, whoever is recommending these guys should be going too.

Souness, that simple ball has been costing us for years, so wasn't surprising to see. Such a basic ball as well to defend.

Dan Neil is a very good footballer, Wolverhampton are in the driving seat for him, but he's a Rangers player next season that will make me one very happy man.
Another footballer with a fantastic workrate.
13 May 2026 16:39:38
Said the same about Rothwell.
13 May 2026 17:25:37
Bigbluejim, Seen Dan Neil live dozens of times, probably the best player in the prompted team, and work rate? Neil is on a different level to the majority of players in that department.
13 May 2026 17:55:18
I know Mystar, but you did say the same about Rothwell, unless this lad is on low wages, I wouldn't even bother, as we would be selling him 6 months later, just like the aforementioned Rothwell.
13 May 2026 18:21:35
Bigbluejim, different player from Rothwell, and Rothwell is a good player, just never done it here. Telling you, mate, Neil covers a hell of ground in 90 minutes, and he does it in the 90th minute. He got some energy about him, very good around centre mid, play the number six easily and control a game from that position, far younger as well, scored a few belters at Sunderland, good technical player, I'd be very happy, struggling to think of any ours being better, Raskin well on it possibly but he can play, mate, want a Captain he could possibly be that man.
