Danny Röhl shortlisted for Bayer Leverkusen Head Coach vacancy.

Just read this, Jasper, and it's coming out of Germany. Would be a bit dubious if it was the British press, but they don't seem to have picked up on it yet. Good info, mate.

Leverkusen obviously impressed by his shrewd tactics, team selections, and the winning mentality he has installed in Scotland's third placed team.
Just can't remotely see this happening.

I wonder if his agent is trying to get him a move.

Vincent Kompany got the buyers job, I'll believe anything is possible.

Scotty Kompany was there 5/6th choice.

Leverkusen are a massive club. If he's offered that, I believe he would take it. He still has a reputation in Germany as a top young coach.

He is a top young coach. I can't believe fans want shot of him. It's an absolutely shocking shout. And for who? Gerrard? Come on. As a fan base, we will never ever learn. Rohl deserves a summer window and a full season. It's got to be a rebuild regardless of who comes in, and I'd rather Rohl than Gerrard and co. We wanted Gio, chased him out, wanted Beale, chased him out, chased out Clement, then wanted him back lol, and he's had far worse results than Rohl. This season hasn't been good enough, but again, we all said before Rohl got the job that the signings were appalling by Martin, and the team didn't even look fit for the jersey.
What's Rohl meant to do? The signings he made in Rommens and Naderi have been great. Chukwuani is a player too. Ok, Skov hasn't worked, but we all said pre Skov loan deal that he should have torn this league apart. We'll never learn, allow people time. Gerrard back though. Absolutely laughable. Same crowd that didn't want Lampard or McInnes, look how that went! ??♂️

5th or 6th after who, Storm.

IrvineBlue, I agree with you that Danny Rohl deserves time to build his own Rangers team as we've gone down this continual road of chopping/changing managers after short spells in charge, it hasn't worked and will never work, as we'll never gain stability/continuity by continually going down this route. ? I'm as scunnered as any Rangers supporter, but this time we should give Rohl time to bring in his own players and I honestly do think Cavanagh will keep him in place and afford him more time.
? I also think with Rohl's German assistant allegedly leaving and going back to Germany it will be important who Rohl brings in there to replace him, as part of his backroom team, as if he chooses wisely/correctly, it could be a big benefit to him going forward. ? I think there will be a good few changes within our coaching structure, hopefully for the better. ?

I agree, Sir Walter, the collapse has been down to the players, most of which were not his signings and have failed time and time again.
DR has made mistakes, but broadly I think he has done okay with a poor squad. I have to be honest, until he replaced RM I didn't see us in the top 6. Many were saying that we had the worst ever squad, which I do believe.
He managed to improve a poor bunch, so I'm sure with better players in the summer we will have better results next season. I'm gutted like everyone else, but we need to remember how bad it was and what a mess has been left to fix with Thelwell et al.

He signed 4 in January, so a snapshot of what we can expect from his team, as everyone puts it. Apart from Rommens, have they really been successful?

I agree, Cloudfire. How people have gone from slaughtering the recruitment to saying it's the best squad in the league is mind boggling. Rohl may or may not be the right man, but it's absolutely on the players.
You're not telling me Danny is responsible for players not bothering chasing their man or switching off, ie Tav and Djiga, or others like Skov being absolutely worthless since he came.
