Just had info myself there that there's going to be signings in the close season that will shock some ? Some older experienced players are being looked at as signings for next season who get what Rangers is all about and can play in Scottish football ?Kenny mclean i'm told is definitely one of them and lyndon dykes is possibly another ? Only passing on what i've been told

I'd take McLean in a heartbeat. Dykes not so much.

07 May 2026 15:33:26
Dykes will be a fantastic signing, mate. He's a good player, more than capable of playing for us in any game.

His experience will be massive.

07 May 2026 15:36:43
Walter read the article. We should, with a good start, make the top six.

Who we dropping to play McLean?

07 May 2026 15:45:39
I've got the fear with them 2.

07 May 2026 15:52:33
Norwich have only just triggered his year's extension. Obviously, if they hadn't, he would've been a free agent. Is this to guarantee they get a fee for him? McLean himself also stated the other day that he'd be a Norwich player next season, and that he's looking forward to continuing working with Clement.

Clement also said he'll be an integral part of his side next term. Can't see that one happening, I'm afraid. As for Dykes, he's a half decent player in his prime, but his prime days are long gone.

07 May 2026 15:52:39
Wouldn't mind McBurnie, incredible work rate.

07 May 2026 15:57:50
Signing these two are good squad options, don't need to start every week, but I think both will do a job.

07 May 2026 16:11:28
If we sign Kenny McLean and Dykes, shut the doors for good.

07 May 2026 16:13:53
Agree, MyStar, he's got 17 so far this season with 8 assists. Dykes' best season was at Livi when he got 14! We need someone who scores goals, Dykes' average is about 8 goals a season. McBurnie would be a great addition.

07 May 2026 16:22:45
Don't know why I wrote Dykes.

I meant McClean. He'll be a fantastic signing for the club, squad, team in that order.

Dykes no way not for me.

07 May 2026 16:42:44
Mystar, yes, McBurnie is the type of character we've been missing. Knows where the goal is as well.

17 goals in the Championship is not bad at all. Level with the much vaunted Hagi-Wright, but McBurnie has 6 more assists.

07 May 2026 16:43:42
Dykes is a definite no for me. We've already got enough strikers that don't score enough goals, and his best days are in the past. McLean, I wouldn't mind as a squad player to bring more experience to the squad. I would be surprised if Norwich let him go, though, without a decent fee.

I expect to see Billy Gilmour and Lewis Ferguson leave their respective clubs this summer. I suspect the finances for either of them would be too much for us, but you never know.

07 May 2026 16:49:55
John, I think it will be who are we selling to play McClean? Dio, Raskin, Barron all chance to move on, I think.

07 May 2026 16:53:01
I really don't like McBurnie, Mystar but who knows maybe with the added that he's a Rangers fan might bring his game up. Can't see us paying a fee for him though, and if we wanted him, think we would have moved for him long before now.

We are more likely to do something stupid like pay a fee for Shankland when we could have had him for nowt lol. Sounds about right for way our club being run.

07 May 2026 17:14:57
Bleed blue, so we lower the standard of the team, concerning.

07 May 2026 17:27:23
If there is any truth to these, as the o.p says, I will be shocked!!
At least 2 steps backwards in my humble opinion.
I'm sure there will be hundreds of rumours in the next 3 months, but please God, we have more ambition than journeymen at the end of their careers.

07 May 2026 17:57:41
I think we'd struggle to make top 6 with those types of signings, John. Can only be expected to finish third. I'm actually surprised these guys would want to sign for us.

07 May 2026 18:15:10
John McClean is a good player. He's not going to be a starter, he's main out coming for his Scot's trained and experience, but is also a good player.

07 May 2026 18:50:58
Stevie, yes, a good player, not exceptional. We can't just sign someone because he's Scots-trained.
We need much better, or it will be at least another five years before we win the league.

How much would you pay: transfer fee, then salary, plus signing-on fee and bonuses?

07 May 2026 19:21:21
I hoped we'd be signing players that improve us, but Kenny McLean and Lyndon Dykes are not improvements.

07 May 2026 19:45:58
Sorry I disagree slightly. Think McLean would be a very good, sensible signing. I do like Dykes, good target man & holding it up, but for a target man you'd need wingers that take defenders on & cross balls in & we don't have that & if Dykes did sign we would definitely need a proven goalscorer to play up top alongside him.

Think we should be aiming bitty higher than Dykes though imo. As for Gilmour or Ferguson I'd have either or both of them in a heartbeat, but can't see either of them coming.

07 May 2026 20:17:39
John, I'd say 500k-750k, mate. Definitely a million would be my max, but worth the million for euro squad and for the experience around the club. We really lack Scottish experience, mate.

Wages, I wouldn't know, mate.

Perhaps 15k a week, mate.

I agree, some of the names we hear are a scary thought, like Dykes. Who isn't even Scots-trained anyway.

There is room for a McClean and a Fraser, not Dykes and McKenna.

07 May 2026 22:29:06
Stevie, I'd be surprised if McLean took a 500 k cut per season to play for his beloved Rangers.

07 May 2026 23:41:47
John, so would I, mate.

It's a fair point u make.

I didn't know his wage, he'd need a 2 year deal with 300k paid over that course.

Perhaps he'd be allowed to leave for nominal fee or a swap for a fringe player of ours. Maybe Rice?

08 May 2026 02:49:08
I've wanted McBurnie for the last 3 years. Would do great at Ibrox imo.
