Guys,
Still in Dom Republic, on a tour this am guy with SW shirt on was asking about Danny, l told him he had steady a very shaky ship.
What l hadn't heard was what he said next, he told me the players turned on DR l always thought it was the owner that he had the beef with.

Think l will miss game Sunday, at sea and wifi is dire. ?.

He left due to the owner, but when he chose to return, the players were unhappy with him choosing to walk away from them, and took it as a slight.

The players made it clear they had no desire to continue working with someone who openly wanted out.

Aph, so are things still the same? Or have the players changed their minds? Or has Danny Rohl changed his mind? I can't work out what either of yous are meaning, (Bunnet & yourself).

Fraser, we are talking about the end of his tenure at Sheffield Wednesday.

Rohl was getting grief from the owner of Sheffield Wednesday. The owner couldn't bump him and Rohl couldn't quit, but Rohl downed tools cause of the ?.
The owner persuaded him to come back. He went, but the players spat the dummy and didn't want to work with him anymore because he walked away. Close to that, Fraser.

Am completely lost here.

Aph, thanks for the reply, buddy. Though the more I thought about it, I realised what the op (bunnet) was meaning. I didn't realise until I read it back that the shirt was a Shef Wed shirt. (I'm a silly billy) lol.

Not sure about players turning their back. Heard Josh Windass speak about him. Couldn't have spoken more highly of him. He said he's going all the way to the top. Strange thing to say about someone you turned your back on.

Mj, the situation at SW was really poor, and players were playing for no, or late, wages. Rohl had, latterly, a strained relationship with the owner, and originally left. The players, after going through all they did, collectively felt let down.

However, despite the messy departure, they still acknowledge what he helped them do on the pitch. So, possibly in hindsight they see the issues he had before he left, but remember the 'good times' he created.

Although most of the players talk very highly of him.

He lost the players and fans as he essentially decided he was leaving due to the situation with the club and owner. Some didn't like that attitude.
