I know we've been linked with Watt from Motherwell, but the lad is a smashing player.

Meant to put the other midfielder, just.

Both are very good and would improve our squad.
Cameron would also improve us if given a chance.

Just shows a great knack of timing his runs behind the defence. Cracking player.

SOS, what other player?
23 Feb 2026 17:12:16
Just playing well with them because they play the way that suits him. We don't play that way, and I don't think we ever will. That's why. Wouldn't sign him.

Maybe these players at Motherwell look good because the manager there plays to their strengths, and his system suits their style of play.
Would they fit into Danny Rohl's system and style?

Or is it possible we play like this because we don't yet have the players to do what he'd like, Storm? If he is interested in them, then maybe he wants to. None of our mids look to go behind like Just does. I'm not sure we've entirely seen the style Rohl wants yet, because he's just been working with what he has till now.

I think we will get players to play more in the style Rohl wants to play, and the ones we have will become more adept as they become better used to what is needed. He has had 19 league games since he became manager, and has had at most 1 day between games to coach that system. He made us difficult to beat first, and the attacking part will still take longer.
But if you consider his first 19 league games, he has won 14, drawn 4 and lost 1; he isn't doing that badly so far. Compare that to Motherwell under Askou, with 7 wins, 9 draws and 3 losses in his first 19. Since then, 6 wins and 2 draws. So it takes a while to get a team playing as you want them to.

Mikey Moore easily our best, most attack-minded attacking midfielder who can make things happen. ? ??

Elliot Watt is a fantastic player in that number 6 role. We should absolutely be going after him in the summer.

Kasier, it's just my opinion on the boy. I don't think we would play to his strengths, but if we did sign him I would hope he would turn out to be a gem. Also, as Angus says, Rohl hasn't had a lot of time on the training field. One day here, one day there, though I think he would have had a decent amount of time.
The only thing I would say to Angus is that it's Motherwell he is doing this with; making average players into great players is harder to do with a team like Motherwell and his budget, so I don't think it's fair to compare either team, especially with the difference in budget.

Storm, I can't disagree with that, but I wonder if it is easier in a way to do it at Motherwell, where the demands are less. I don't know enough to make that distinction, but he has done very well to even get them to 4th from 8th last season with a lot of the same squad.
I do agree that he has managed to turn average players into a cohesive unit. So, I also think that just buying a player who plays well for Motherwell and expecting him to come to us and do the same isn't a given.
Neither would have got the same understanding when things weren't going as well earlier in the season, and that might have killed the confidence in what he was trying early.
We see a good player as fans and want to buy him, but your point on whether we play to that player's strengths, or whether he fits into our style, is well made.

Think, until Rohl replaces Dio and Raskin in the middle, maybe right back, and another forward, we won't know the kinda style he wants long term. Half the team is still what he inherited.
25 Feb 2026 13:42:20
I reckon Rohl will look to sell Raskin and Barron before Diomande, who seems to suit his system better. I can see him replacing the smaller players first with bigger, stronger players who track back and defend when we are countered, and get forward when we high press in attack.
