?? EXCL | Glasgow Rangers have opened talks with VfL Wolfsburg to sign Andreas Skov Olsen.
The 26 y/o winger was not included in the squad today against FC Bayern. Not injured. Skov Olsen is ready for a new chapter. Contract valid until 2029.

Really hope this is true because it's a statement signing.
Possibly a real game changer.
11 Jan 2026 20:03:59
Seems a lot of the red tops are now running with this story.
11 Jan 2026 20:04:10
Plettenberg is a decent journalist when it comes to German football so this ones interesting.
11 Jan 2026 20:04:47
Fingers crossed he loves.
11 Jan 2026 20:05:20
Beat me to it, wonder how reliable this guy is though, don't watch lots of football bar Rangers so don't know anything about him.
11 Jan 2026 20:09:52
As spoken about yesterday, Wolfsburg looking for around 7 million Euros. Potential loan with obligations.
11 Jan 2026 20:13:44
Still a decent age just turned 26 few weeks ago so still got sell on value and comes with experience.
11 Jan 2026 20:15:50
Guy spat on Raskin.
11 Jan 2026 20:20:00
Game changer and statement of intent by board of true. It's not a gamble in my eyes.
11 Jan 2026 21:11:50
We have been after this guy for years, I think he's a real talent who is now getting to his peak age.
11 Jan 2026 21:19:50
The fan had a paper cup with the lid off it.
11 Jan 2026 21:22:19
Scott Burns saying loan deal hopefully with option to buy be a serious game changing signing and I don't think we will be stopping there. I think the yanks have big plans for this window.
11 Jan 2026 21:24:33
What a cracking signing Skov Olson would be.
Guy is very like Cerney direct, skilful, will take on a player, n no scared to take a shot.
This is one I really hopes true and we can sign this boy up. Would be a total coup.
What a signing, bears.
11 Jan 2026 21:25:03
Aye and Raskin soaked a Aberdeen fan ? so who cares man get him in please.
11 Jan 2026 21:44:16
A top tier loan with an option in the summer would be amazing, he could be a real game changer for us.
11 Jan 2026 21:55:41
Olsen mentioned in record now.
Raskin should have used sheep dip. ???.
11 Jan 2026 22:07:59
Looks like the Yanks might go all in, the chance is there to go win the league whoever signs best wins the league. we need players ready to hit the ground running in this window and Skov is definitely one who could.
11 Jan 2026 22:30:19
Is he ready to got the ground running though. Not played much.
12 Jan 2026 00:21:54
Loan maybe can't see perm after they paid 14million.
12 Jan 2026 01:58:57
Foreverrangers yes they did pay that but it hasn't worked out so they're not exactly going to be looking for a profit on him when he is, in a sense, a failed transfer for them. They'll probably happily take half what they paid, similar to the situation we are in with Danilo.
12 Jan 2026 05:35:44
There's a big difference losing half of 6m to losing half of 14m tho.
12 Jan 2026 05:52:13
Yes it would be a loan only, no danger we are paying 12 to 14 mill for Olsen on current form, he has only been at Wolfsburg 1 year and has been crap in comparison to his successful domestic campaigns at Club Brugge.
like Cerny, if we get Olsen it will be on a loan to increase his value again so Wolfsburg can sell him on and try and recoup their money.
12 Jan 2026 06:09:15
Billy are we really going to pay even if you say 10million for a guy that's has less sell on options
For me this would purely be a loan to get him game tome before world cup another rehab project like cerny
But he's similar to cerny so i'd go for it.
12 Jan 2026 06:29:42
Billy that's crazy they are not taking a 7million hit for a guy that's been there one season
Danilo has been with us for 3 season under diff managers and not found any consistent performances his only real good scoring spell was ajax jong and loan to twente
Skov olsen would be at least 10m minimum he has good seasons to back up that price tag as well as international caps
Their scoring records are similar overall but considering skov a winger and Danilo a forward and skov moved around tried diff leagues more
Hes also competing with three solid international players for a place on right wing at wolfsburg with the nighling injuries he's had
And a certain mr cerny also had similar struggles at.
12 Jan 2026 07:18:50
I see what yous guys are saying, but to me it looks like a similar situation to Chermiti. They paid 15, then sold to us for 8 rising to 10m. Who's to say Wolfsburg aren't looking for a similar deal just to cut their losses? A 6 month loan does look the most likely but I'd rather we pushed the boat out and tried to make it a loan with obligation for 7/8m.
