I thought he had to be registered by midday on working day before the match. that would be yesterday. not saying announcement won't happen today but signing would be yesterday.

Kaiser don't think it has anything to do with why they are announced, as long as the player is registered before the team sheets given to the ref on the day of the game. I don't believe there's a specific deadline other than that but I could be wrong, I don't know how long the registration process takes either.

In the Eliteserien a player must be registered at least 24 hours prior to a Match.
48 hours of the match is on a Monday.

My understanding is that registrations need to be concluded by cob Friday for any games over the weekend. e. g. SFA finish the approval process.
Yes team lines can be confirmed on game day to the referee/online but these team lines are driven by the portal that they use i. e. you can't select a player for the team sheet if not registered on the system.
It's possible that they were registered but not announced yesterday. We shall see.

Aphe. normal office hours for SFA are Mon-Fri 9 to 5. they have in the past had their registration office on Saturday mornings for busy periods. not sure Saturday 10th is that busy period and wouldn't be open just in case a player signs IMO.
they were also closed until 5th Jan so I equally wasn't surprised that no signings were done then.

They are working to get the players they want in, what's waiting an extra few days or a week if it's to get right players in? They'll be acting as fast as they can.
