Great article EHL. More disappointment but no surprise.
Until there is systemic change of the SFA, and removal of many of the dinosaurs who work there in senior roles, I fear the collapse of our game you talk about. I'm not sure we'd have the ability to build back from it, however.
Getting to major tournaments and then miserably failing shouldn't be an excuse for tinkering, wholesale change is required. Once again, we should look to countries in Europe to learn and implement change.

Absolutely, Kaiser 👍 and Derek McInnes has signed some exciting, forward thinking players. 👌 Not to mention Gassama is like a new man under McInnes and working hard and also back to the pacey, very direct winger we've seen when we first signed him. 👍 Can go past opponents with ease and has blistering pace and hard to stop when he's on this sort of form.
👌 No wonder McInnes always said he wanted to keep Gassama and McInnes has constantly started him and little wonder on this form. 😲 Long may it continue. 🙏 🇬🇧

Interesting read, but you must have a plan in your head you feel might work.
Why not work with youth football and try to get clubs who do all the early work follow your ideas.
From what I have read in the past, you seem to understand what is needed.
This goes back to councils shutting pulled parks down in summer, to save the coast of Labour maintaining them and making kids play in bad weather.

Garyt, being honest, I don't have the time or the capacity.
I work with around 15 professional men's players on a 1-2-1 basis and support the Scottish set up from U17 - U23 to earn a living.
I also work with around 8 professional women's players free of charge, as I'm passionate around helping develop the women's game.
There is no appetite from the SFA to invest any kind of restructure outside their current programme for youth.
Although over the last 3-4 years I have submitted a number of proposals and contributed to a number of reviews.

I must admit I don't agree with the authorities dictating to teams who they can and can't play. We all know that the real reason that there is little talent coming through is the lack of any over 18 structure over the years, that has been addressed a wee bit since last season but that hasn't had time to make an impact yet.
I also think MulHolland is a bit naive to say that we are losing players to England because of lack of opportunity up here. Again, we all know most leave as soon as they reach 16 before they sign pro and they go purely for the money because breaking through in England is even harder than it is up here.

Good read mate thanks. I've got 3 boys under 10, all football daft. I hope they stick at it. Got them on the right path. These iPads/computers have a lot to answer for, as it's not like when I was young, out playing football until it got dark. Completely different world now, the SFA have to think outside the box and totally transform our game. Look at England, literally a couple hours away, and it's the best league in the world.
Our top seats need to invest in all the smaller clubs, make our league bigger, and put more into the communities. All the pitches are getting turned into housing, not many kids have access to free football pitches anymore. All turned into a cash grab. I spend a fortune every year.

What a shambolic set of proposals. So we play two Under21, one has to play 90 minutes, so we can't sub both. What if unwell or injured? We can't take him off. F*** joke.
Let's start improving the game by not having two bodies running the game, it bleeds money.
