Any word on Chermiti guys? That injury after the verbal offer (that in my opinion we should have encouraged and accepted if formalised) was almost worse than getting beaten yesterday.

10 Aug 2026 17:37:53
Murmurings around the club only - minor knock, not as bad as first feared. Awaiting results but could be 2-3 weeks max.

10 Aug 2026 17:55:32
Back in time so we can still flog him?

10 Aug 2026 17:59:53
It was like a dead leg the way McInness was talking.

Impact knock, so that's not bad, albeit we still need an X-ray.

10 Aug 2026 18:00:51
Hopefully, Kaiser. It's about time we sold a dumpling for big money. We have been on the receiving end often enough.

10 Aug 2026 18:26:16
Bewilders me at the heat Chermiti gets at times. By far and away the best mins per goal ratio in the league last season and scored some belters, still very young and has all of the attributes of a top striker.
If he was as consistent as everyone would like him to be then we'd be getting offered scary money for him.

10 Aug 2026 18:32:49
Bang on Mowzer, what is he to do with no service. I was hugely critical of him at the start of last season but when he found form he was unplayable. Set up and play to his strengths, give him service and we'll see an excellent goal return.

10 Aug 2026 19:11:58
Surely to God most can see that Chermiti is talented. 🤔 He'll only get better and better for me. 🤔

10 Aug 2026 19:14:13
Dumplings a bit harsh for one of our best goals to minute ratios in recent times, whilst probably having the worst service in recent times. But each to their own, my opinion on a dumpling might be different to yours.

10 Aug 2026 19:30:18
Wasn't gave him stick, but if we're talking more than £22m then I'd grab it and run for someone who had half a dozen great games. He's nowhere near worth that.

10 Aug 2026 19:49:19
Imagine teams that were interested in any of our players had a look at the comments on here. We wouldn't get any of them sold, let alone get top whack.

10 Aug 2026 19:51:21
Dumpling is perhaps harsh, and I mean it in a jesting kind of way in terms that he in no way justifies that kind of transfer fee for me, and I would be delighted to sell someone for well over their value for a change as opposed to getting hee haw for Buff, Kent etc.

He has raw physical attributes, but I don't see the nous for the big man to be the main striker of a 3, which is the common attacking formation.

He doesn't hold the ball or pass consistently well enough to be a link for me, doesn't make "strikers" runs to receive the ball in goal scoring positions enough, and when he is in those positions, he doesn't look like he is going to score for me.

Good luck to the big man, but I'd be happier if we could get a big sale and try again with someone else (hopefully better!).

10 Aug 2026 20:13:25
Goals per minute stat isn't the best way to look at it. He got 15 in 41 games and I can recall just under half of them came in 4 matches. Talented, perhaps; consistent, definitely not.
At least 30 matches he was ineffective.
Everyone has a different opinion, but he doesn't set me on fire.

10 Aug 2026 20:35:35
Does anyone remember this boy is only 22. 🤣 A 22 year old had 20 goal contributions in 22 games worth of minutes in the league.

25 million we probably have to accept, and that could be reinvested well into the squad, but the flack he gets I just can't get my head round sometimes.

10 Aug 2026 20:45:22
Stew, it is 100% the best way to look at it. The amount of goals he scored during the accumulated mins of him playing. He didn't play 41 games. He possibly made 41 appearances, but he didn't complete 41 games.

In some games, especially early in the season, he was brought on late. A 5 min cameo contributes to the 41 apps.

As per Tav, he played the equivalent of 22 full matches.

10 Aug 2026 20:46:11
Stew, consistency will come once Chermiti develops further, mate, and Kaiser, I get your opinion when you say Chermiti ain't worth the £22million we turned down for him, but remember his age and potential as well as talent is why, in this day and age, Chermiti is absolutely worth that sort of transfer fee simple as that. 🤔 🇬🇧

10 Aug 2026 20:57:04
Coops, he is in your opinion, but in Kasiers he isn't.

10 Aug 2026 20:58:25
Not to mention in this day and age of stats and physical attributes his are off the charts.

10 Aug 2026 21:10:50
Chermiti had 20 goal contributions in 20 starts in the league, love the big man, going to have some career ahead, chuffed we actually got him.

10 Aug 2026 21:23:56
How at, don't you think it's a bit strange that wee are being offered 22 million pound for a big dumpling, fs, a 22 million pound dumpling would spread half way round the world I'd imagine.

11 Aug 2026 00:14:06
My local team here in Spain is Elche. They have just sold a striker to Bournemouth for around £22m. This guy has not shown anything like the potential that Chermiti has. Most strikers rely on service. Our best in recent times, Morelos, Dessers, made so many goals themselves. Chermiti also. At the other end of town they are scoring goals from inside the six yard box, like Boyd or McCoist.

I do think that we should sell at the right price. And that goes for any player. We have been guilty too often of holding on to players too long, losing out on millions. We can't, as a business, continually have share offers to get more money in.

11 Aug 2026 07:44:48
See the matches that he has 20 contributions, how many did we win? I can only think of 3: Celtic, Hearts and Killie. There might be 1 or 2 more. In my opinion that's not really being a difference maker.
