I've genuinely found the reaction from a lot of our fans on here embarrassing.
For years we've criticised the club for its constant knee-jerk decisions, yet after a poor start to the season many of the same people are demanding exactly that. You can't preach patience and a long-term vision, then want to tear it all up the minute something goes wrong.
The harsh reality is that we're shopping in the bargain basement compared to the Rangers of old. The days of signing established big names are gone. We need to identify players with potential, coach them, improve them and accept there will be bumps along the way. That's where we are as a club, whether people like it or not.
What really gets me, though, is the arrogance. Before a ball was kicked there were people saying we'll beat this mob team 2–0 away despite knowing absolutely nothing about them. That attitude is exactly what's been wrong with this club for years. European football doesn't work like that anymore. There are good teams all over the continent, and underestimating anyone because of the league they play in is arrogance, not confidence.
I already know what some of the replies will be.I don't see any progress. I do.
I don't see a finished team, but I do see a manager who's being honest about where we are. He's not pulling the wool over anyone's eyes or trying to convince us we're watching some amazing style of football when we clearly aren't. He's acknowledging the reality of the rebuild instead of dressing it up with excuses or empty soundbites. For me, that's a far better starting point than pretending everything is fine.
The entitlement that's prevalent in this club—among some players and plenty of supporters—has been one of our biggest problems. Cultures don't change overnight. They change through patience, consistency and sticking to a plan when it's tested, not abandoning it at the first sign of adversity.
We all want Rangers back where we belong. But if we keep repeating the same mistakes and demanding instant fixes every time we hit a setback, we'll keep getting the same results.and to be honest, the reaction of many on here deserves this.

Bumps in the road? It's a massive great chasm, mate. To be fair, the vast majority also said we'd be doing well to come away with a draw and knew it'd be a hard. It's the manner of performance that was worse than the result. Great, we have a manager that can recognise and acknowledge we're garbage, but still needs to try and organise us better.
Sticking to a plan with patience is only good if there's any evidence of a plan, and we're gradually improving players or signing better. All are gradually getting worse, not better.

Good post. Don't think anyone sticking their head in the sand, potato, just know it's going to take longer than a couple of games with a huge overhaul before we can feel confident going into the next game.
Still be a lot leaving and a few in before window shuts, so could take a while to get to where we want. Those thinking it's a bust flush already need a bit of patience, uncomfortable viewing as it is.

You see progress? We have made our squad worse than the one that finished third last season, that's called regression.
All I've seen is a manager make excuses after two really poor results against two really poor teams.

Have to agree with Kaiser on this one. Multiple managers / different players - same issues.
No style of play, lack of basic skills and no sign of improvement. Not even a new manager bounce. I don't expect us to beat teams with ease, but I do expect us to put up a fight and look interested. It feels exactly like it did last year under RMs start where lots said be patient, you can't criticise after x games, and yet we pretty much all knew or feared it wasn't going to work. I really do hope this isn't the same old again, but it feels like it just could be. And I'm not blaming DM, there just seems to be something fundamentally wrong at our club.
For me the quality of the summer signings is very much open to question. I remain very unimpressed, but hopefully I'm wrong and we tirnna corner. Let's hope it starts Sunday.
Ps for me DM is already looking frazzled.
