Had an interesting conversation tonight where it was pointed out to me that we deferred the sales of Hamza Igamane, Cyriel Dessers, Ridvan Yilmaz, and Jefte to last year's accounts - and still cut it pretty close to the squad cost ratio.
I'd completely forgotten about those.

He means Rangers' financial position for 2026-27 may be healthier than it first appears: the large player sale profits are effectively being recognised in the following accounting period rather than the previous one. The profits from Igamane, Dessers, Ridvan and Jefte should strengthen the current financial period.

Sorry, it means that last year's accounts contained an additional cĀ£20m from those sales.
So, our turnover figure from last year, which was forecast at around Ā£90-94m, included those sales.
Therefore, looking at our outgoings so far, we're already behind last year's position, and we are also starting Europe at a lower level, with a greater jeopardy in terms of qualification.
All worth considering, as these play a significant part in dictating what we can spend in terms of transfers and wages over the course of the season.

Stig, I don't think anyone actually wants our players, even Raskin. If he was in such demand he would be away by now.
I genuinely don't think we will spend much more, and if that's the case, and we don't strengthen in the correct areas, then we will be lucky to finish 3rd.
It's a mess, and will be even worse if we get pumped out of the Europa. If we get beat on Thursday, and don't take 3 points on Sunday, fans are going to be furious. Big couple of weeks ahead for McInnes and the board.

It means less Kaiser, and if what EHL states is correct, then it's even more criminal from our board to allow CM to be overloaded without the correct positions being filled. That being said, though, we haven't actually spent much this year transfer fee wise.

It means less Kaiser and we're dependent on selling at least one or two of our players for big fees, and the pressure is on to try to get through this tie with the Polish club on Thursday and next Thursday, to get our hands on more revenue mate. š¤ I think that's what EHL was telling us. š¤ š¬š§

Clubs just want a bargain too - hence, they wait till end of window, believing we will take a reduced price - just the normal poker face games clubs will play, so why are we surprised? We do and will have done the same in the past - all part of the food-chain process.

I'm confused, Ehl, the four players. Could not be sold till 1/7/25. Which they were, the 25/26 accounting period opened 1/7/25.
So the four players were sold and shown in 25/26 accounts which ended on 30/6/26.
