Feel like I could be in the minority here but I can't quite believe the level of grief the manager and players are getting after only 93 mins of football.

I really expected the fans to be a bit more relaxed with McInnes and allowing him to get things together.

A stark reminder that the Rangers support are largely at tipping point with how the team has performed since we reached the Europa League final a few years back.

Hopefully we see some green shoots in the next match at Ibrox to settle things down a bit. Whether it settles anything down or not, we'll just need to wait and see.

Let's back the manager and back the team, 37 games to go.

I'm not sure what some people expect, instant success. We were beaten by a Celtic team last year that have just vastly improved their front line, and we were already playing catch up. It's been one game, which we drew, not lost, and still have 4 weeks of the window left. I also don't buy the "we don't need to sell Raskin before signing" either, if I was the owner I wouldn't part with serious funds until he'd signed on the dotted line and the money was in the bank.

Why would you risk going out and spending £8m or £10m on a replacement before the guy he's replacing has even left.
Patience is required, along with good recruitment.

Mowzer, I don't think any manager should get any more leeway than another, no matter the circumstances. What I would expect people to do is, like myself with Danny Rohl, put your differences aside and get behind any manager we get. I believed Rohl was the wrong appointment, but as soon as he signed, he got my complete backing, to the point of singing his name when the rest did, not jumping on any mistakes he makes instantly.

Even after us finishing 3rd, he still had my backing for this season, because I understand these things take time.

We've been starved of any type of continuity for years now, mostly through mismanagement at board level. I totally understand why fans are reacting like this. We all know we're short on quality in a few areas, and hopefully we can get some of this sorted before the window closes. I'm sure people at the club are doing all they can to address this.

Rohl, expectations can still be high after a draw at Tannadice.

I wrote in another thread on Friday that I expected us to be disjointed, a bit here and there and that's exactly what we were. First game of the season, new manager, 7 new signings, still players in the squad who were looking to move on.

We need to have some patience, we're always going to drop points in some games - everybody does.

As Kris Boyd said, the result breeds negativity. But it doesn't need to.

I'd be more concerned if we got pummelled, and we were lucky to get out with a draw. There's a bit to go with this squad, the manager has earned his right to be here and, in my opinion, we need to get behind him and the team as much as possible.

I think the fans have had false dawns before, and we want instant success. We have to be patient till we get all our new recruits in and the dead wood gone, then get the team gelling. Give DMc a chance.

I am just lashing out because I'm fed up with the club making the same mistakes time and time again. Yes, McInnes will be given time and rightly so, but the board and the complete and utter idiots in recruitment will not get any time.

Since the new owners came in, it's been one massive blunder after another and it's time they were brought to task. 4 weeks of window left and we need 5/6 quality 1st team starters in.

02 Aug 2026 19:49:27
Storm, there is still a month left of the window. While I agree that could be blind faith on my part, we need to wait and see what the recruitment team do between now and summer. Transfers are never straight forward. Let's judge after the window closes.

02 Aug 2026 19:57:23
Alloa, some good recruitment would help with the patience.

02 Aug 2026 20:06:48
Strom, think one massive blunder after another is a bit harsh, mate.
I'll give you Russell Martin. That was a shambles, and we all knew it before a ball was kicked.
The fans were having Rohl until the split, and it all looked great up until then.
The signing of Skov Olsen - every single one of us would've made, we all thought it was a real coup, but it didn't work out.

We've since moved Rohl on for a nice fee.
They've made some mistakes. I can't argue with that. But the only massive blunder was their first appointment for me.

02 Aug 2026 21:36:05
I have no doubt that the recruitment team are working their asses off to try and get the best players they can in.

As others have eluded to, we can't make anyone come that doesn't want to. I personally don't think it's lack of effort though, and I think we're continually having to move on to or identify other targets when maybe our 1st choices don't work out.

Is that a failure on their part? I'm not so sure.

02 Aug 2026 22:18:42
You are entitled to your opinion, Souness, but thanks I'll stick with mine. Massive blunder after another.

Wishy, did you even read what I said? I said 4 weeks still to go in window, they need to get 5/6 players in. 🤦‍♂️

02 Aug 2026 18:50:42
We were told that we needed a manager who was: Scottish, a Rangers man, knows the league, and who "gets it". McInnes was brought here because he meets those criteria. So of course expectations are high.

02 Aug 2026 23:46:24
Strom, of course mate, that's what it's all about, we're all on here to voice our own views.
I personally only see one blunder and it was Martin. I wouldn't class Rohl or any of the signings last season as a blunder.
Miovski, we were all excited about. Hasn't worked.
Same with ASO.
Antman has the highest assists in the Eridivisie. Hasn't worked.
Chermiti was being crucified until Christmas.

He then finished a couple of goals off top scorer in the league and had the best goals per min ratio in the league overall.
Fernandez was getting slaughtered until Christmas. Djiga was the same until after AFCON.
Maybe it's just me, mate, but I don't see all the blunders except from one, but it's a discussion, mate, so happy to hear your side as well.
