Sometimes You Have to Spend Bigger to Win Bigger. If Rangers are serious about closing the gap, I actually think we should consider selling one more of our genuinely valuable assets. Someone like Manny Fernandez, if the right offer came along. Not because we want to weaken the squad, but because we need to strengthen it where it matters most.
At the moment, it feels like we're shopping almost exclusively in the "future potential" market. There's nothing wrong with that if you're buying potential. But potential doesn't always unlock stubborn Scottish Premiership defences or settle European nights when the game is in the balance.
We're crying out for proven creativity.
Maybe it's time Rangers were brave enough to step into the £10 million market for one or two genuine game changers. Two players who immediately improve the starting XI and lift the quality of everyone around them. I think that's how we help the trading model improve its return.
If selling one more valuable asset gives us the financial flexibility to buy two experienced, creative match winners, then perhaps that's the calculated gamble worth taking.
Because in football, and especially at Rangers, sometimes you don't win by buying more players.that's been proven over the last few years.
I think you win by injecting better ones into the starting XI.

Nobody is interested in our third place superstars, not at the value some of our fans expect.
Fernandez is okay but not a superstar. I personally don't think he's as bad as people have made out, but let's not forget the Peterborough fans were glad to see the back of him.
Raskin had a good World Cup but wasn't great throughout last season, people don't pay £20m for that sort of player.
Chermiti might go for more but let's not forget, we've paid c.£10m for him anyway.
We need good players but we also need to balance this with making our current players better. When was the last time we genuinely made a player better? Bassey?

I've always been a believer you get what you pay for. A while ago, AC said 10m would be in the norm for us.

Me2, AC has said a lot of things that aren't happening and constantly apologising.

We will get decent money for Raskin, Dado. Think the twenty million will be hit. As for Fernandez, he will be getting looked at. Some teams don't start their league games for a few weeks, and drawing on Friday has put a lot into panic mode, which am probably one.
Said before our starting 11 from Friday will have about six different names from one that will start after window.

Some posters predicted a total dominance from us for years to come with these new owners.

Sell them both, if figures are to be believed, 40 to 45 m, we could certainly improve squad with that sort of money.
And let's be honest, both are replaceable.

I'll happily be proven wrong, Coopersdad. I'm struggling to see it though.

Certainly looks that way, Storm. Got to say I expected a lot more since the Americans took over.
