Can we all just now realise that Raskin's sale is what's holding up the rumours on here.
There's no other reason why we're inactive in the creative areas.
The sooner he's gone the better or these targets will be gone and we're back to square one.
Barron, Gassama, Dio, Bajrami and Souttar all still here, the last two no new updates and what's the hold up?
Also think it's a mistake making Shankland captain due to his position which is very much a rotational one!

I also believe it's the size of an already bulging squad.
We are still trying to right the mistakes of previous seasons, but would appear we've bought in bulk this season again.
I have no idea what the answer is.
We need to reduce the numbers though before we can bring in more by the looks of it.

We have to also accept that there may not be any actual interest in any of the players we are looking to move on. And if there is interest, they most likely will not be top of any lists.
I hope DM isn't holding on to certain players because he believes he will get a tune out of them. These players will cost him his job.

EHL stated a few days ago something along the lines that Raskin knows where he'll be playing next season, and there will be no bidding war for him. I'm starting to think nobody actually wants him and he'll be playing here next season - and that means a few good weeks/months, but more often than not flattering to deceive like he always does.

Yer maws maw, funnily enough the role Shankland is playing is probably the role Aasgaard would be best at IMO. And Shankland up one, and yes as a rotational striker.

I believe our current first team squad is 31, and of those 31 there is currently active interest in 11 players.
We can't speed up this process, nor can we force players under contract to take moves that don't suit them.
As these 11 players move on, the aim is to bring in a further 6; however, we aren't financially in a position to bring those 6 in whilst the 11 are still employed by the club.
It's frustrating, but that's football, and personally I'm happy we are operating in this manner.

Think we are over reacting on Shanklin be captain as he may not play every game, he is club captain & will do that role well, on occasions he does not play or is sub, then there will be others who can fill that role on match day.
Yes, result not great plus end of last season, but we are not going to win every game.
McInnes needs time to get his own players in & time for them to settle, but as he says in short term we still need to get results, then worry about style of play.
Priority at moment is getting players out that are not in plans (I know harder done than said).
Plus adding a few quality signings.
On that front is Barron fit or he in same boat as Equadorian boy.
Would think there will be quite a few moves this week both in & out, not claiming to be it, but was at Golf day recently & few explorers there not all Rangers but subject came up & that was opinion of most (Just an educated guess).

You can't surely be happy with the recruitment we've made, EHL.
02 Aug 2026 12:25:23
Ayrshire, he didn't mention anything about being happy with recruitment mate.
02 Aug 2026 12:49:21
Club or game captain, Jasp?
Surely, they need to be one player and a player who's consistently the 1st name on the sheet!
02 Aug 2026 12:58:30
Ayrshire, as it stands, no, I'm not happy with the recruitment, but I'm also aware of the challenges the club are facing.
I'd have loved us to have gotten all our business done in time for the first game, but it's just not possible and moaning or criticising the club for things they have limited control over just doesn't make sense.
At times, so many of our fans come across as spoiled, entitled brats.

Agree with the guys who want to judge us after a good few games in and not after 1 league game, which is laughable, I think these guys have had too much sunshine in their lives, let's see how we look when the transfers are done n dusted.

Rangers Review did say Raskin would need to go before Dahl could be bought. People on here said Rangers didn't need to sell Raskin before they could sign Dahl, which now looks like mince.
We need a big money fee in this window. We have no Champions League money to bank. Raskin needs to go.
02 Aug 2026 13:51:37
Totally agree, EHL. We want what we want, when we want it and we want it now.
I'm frustrated that we've brought in 8 again. Huge numbers, when we still had so many on the books and little for the creative side of things.
We're still trying to right the mistakes of seasons gone.
With 31 players currently, it would be insane to bring in more without shifting.
02 Aug 2026 14:33:44
My only worry is, we don't manage to move on the players this window.
We want moved on and that's where it gets worrying.
