If you look into his stats, he was actually better than Raskin and Barron combined last season for most of the defensive stats. No bad for someone who missed a few months of it as well.

Rfc22, don't think it's about comparing them, Raskin is without doubt a more technically gifted player than Devlin, but Devlin is more suited to the game in Scotland. Works harder for the team, isn't shy in pulling his socks up and doing the dirty work, unlike Raskin, who disappears in games when the going gets tough.

The disrespect Raskin gets is unbelievable. I don't mind the Devlin signing one bit, but if you asked a manager, Devlin or Raskin, there is only one player who wins that every time, and it's not the Aussie. Disappears when the going gets tough as well is laughable. If our actual Raskin replacement is anywhere near as good as Nico, we will be doing well.

Tav, just the same, if you asked any manager between Barron or Devlin, why clubs are interested in Barron for x rated millions instead of signing a free, Diomande is a level above him in technically as well, Devlin maybe has a better engine than Raskin or Diomande but level down as a footballer. Imo, but he'll be supported, he won't be a constant starter either.

Laughable. ? That's your opinion, mate. Mine is he disappears when the going gets tough. ? Where was he during the split, for instance? Nowhere to be seen, he's been a totally different player for Belgium during the World Cup. What I'm saying is he isn't built for the game in Scotland, he's got obvious quality, but there's no way you can say he's shown that consistently in a Rangers jersey.
Folk talk about him as if he's irreplaceable, and, in my opinion, that's far from the case.

Rfc, the only person mentioned comparing was you, mate, nobody compared them as players. Statistically, Devlin was way better, which is a fact. I think he'll really surprise a few.
Would rather Devlin over Barron, every day of the week, the players that they are right now.
Diomande can have all the technical ability in the world, Mystar, if he can't perform what's the point? Don't know if anyone else has noticed with Diomande, but he seems to be falling over when receiving or passing the ball a huge majority of the time.

Boy Blue, Barron all day for me. Barron will only improve as well, plenty good clubs in much better leagues are willing to spend millions on him. Diomande is levels up on ability, he'd be better moving on. Maybe doesn't do it in our league why he's better going, but put on some top performances in Europe.

If ever there's a moneyball signing, Devlin is it. Free and defensive stats are amazing in the league.
I do wonder if that gives McInnes a huge edge over other managers, as he's worked with the analytics at Hearts and has had to analyse Rangers and the Scottish teams from an opponent perspective.
I wonder if this is why we are tearing the midfield apart so quickly, he's possibly seen that that's how to get to Rangers.

Rfc, nobody is comparing Nico Raskin and Cammy Devlin, mate. ? For me 2 different types of midfielders. ? Devlin is much better than Raskin at breaking opposition play up, and winning tackles and protecting his defence. ? Whereas Raskin is better going forward with the ball, and playing further forward with his clever runs, and is the all round better footballer, but Devlin in his midfield position does that job better than Raskin.

BB4, it wasn't a reply to the post pointing out Devlin's stats, it was a reply to someone talking about Raskin and also just in general some of the nonsense that's been said about Raskin on here.

Tav, he doesn't get disrespected though. People have rightly pointed out that he's not been that great in a Rangers jersey, he's never been a stand out for us, or had a brilliant season any the time he's been here. I've pointed out before that could be to do with the players around him, but definitely not disrespect, just the truth.
