My reply to you would be that I do think technically Chermiti may be better but for a striker goals per season makes all the difference especially in Scotland.
Dessers got goals and was a pest to defenders and tbh I think we really missed him.
Chermiti has potential but that doesn't guarantee he'll reach it.
If he stays hope he kicks on but think £20-£25 mil he's gone.
On the other side If he can give shankland someone to play off and they bang goals in could end up a legend.

I would agree, but I think your figures should be 30 to 35 million. Other leagues value the physical attributes and statistics more, and pay a premium for those things.

Dessers scored 16 in 35 league matches.
Chermiti scored 15 in 30 league matches.
Dessers hardly kicked a ball last season.
Chermiti had a very slow start to his Rangers career before kicking on.
I think Chermiti will beat Dessers' highest league scoring season of 18 if he stays.

Dessers came here as a starter, and played nearly every match.
Chermiti came here having played very little football, struggled to get minutes and struggled for form, but kicked on and scored a decent amount for his 1st season. If he carries that onto this season he scores 25 league goals.
Chermiti is better than Dessers in every aspect of his game for me, maybe Dessers' positioning was better. ? But hopefully we can keep Chermiti's for at least one more season and fire us to the title. ?

Last season, we had at least one poster saying Chermiti had not scored as many as Dessers, but will fire us to the title. ? He fired us to 3rd.

By the way, Chermiti's first few games I wanted him gone. Maybe it was just match fitness, but as the season went on he grew, there's no denying it.
Full pre season and regular starts, then he will blow Dessers' stats out the water.

There is a value ceiling in Scotland. If we are offered between 20m - 25m or thereabouts, then he's 100% offski. Regardless of how well he does this year, we still wouldn't be offered more than this. Would take some outstanding performances in the Champions League to possibly go beyond, and that's not happening with us.
Celtic players value higher because they are champions and play in the Champions League against the big boys. They are also cash rich and have much more say in bids, unlike ourselves.

11 of Chermiti's 15 goals came in the last 12 league games. He really struggled in the first half of last season. It should be fairly safe to assume that with a full preseason and presumably more creative elements added to the team, he should really be coming into his own next season and being able to hit 30+ goals if he can stay free from injuries. The weight has been lifted now that Shankland has arrived who will comfortably add 20+ goals and assists also.
We will also see an improved Naderi. Danilo and Miovski were miles off it when last season began and the pressure on Chermiti was huge to justify his price tag. We should be in a much better place in the goal scoring department from last season when the action starts.

Kenny, why did you put Dessers hardly kicked a ball, without some context of why, why did you only go on league goals? He scored 29 all in. Seems like it fits your narrative, mate.
Dessers never fired us to any titles, but the difference is Storm never said he would.
We all agree Chermiti will be a player, but at this moment and time, Dessers brought more goals, and team finished higher, just saying. Hopefully Chermiti puts that right this season. We can all bang on about how great he's going to become, but he needs to show us.

Dessers had an exceptional goal scoring record for Rangers. He scored 54 goals in his first 100 games or something like that. His scoring rate was right up there with Boyd and Larsson and their first 100 games. He left not long after that.
Keep in mind, Dessers didn't take the penalties.
Just about every one of those goals was from open play. He also paid for his transfer fee and then some with those wondergoals against Betis and Man United. Then we sold him on for millions.
We couldn't have asked for more.

Sorry, what the he hardly kicked a ball comment should have said was he was injured. Had he been with us, he likely would've still been injured and hardly kicked a ball for us also haha.
Let's see how Chermiti gets in next season if he's here, like folk have said, finished the season strong after a poor start.
Full pre season behind him and hopefully starts the season as he finished last one.

Got bored of people mixing the stats, so check with AI for overall goals per minutes across all competitions, and it gave Dessers as a goal every 144mins and Chermiti a goal every 170mins, so Dessers currently edges it slightly.
Given Chermiti only really got going in 2nd half of the season, and is clearly improving, I have no doubts his goals per mins will improve next season.
I don't think we saw Dessers improve in his time.
Chermiti is 22, at the same age Dessers had 4 career goals.

Fork, I don't think Dessers' game improved. I don't think he got better at finishing or improved his positioning or hold up play. Just FYI, I liked Dessers and came on here every week defending him when folk were criticising.
