For those who either didn't want or don't rate Derek mcinnes, I say this
I think this season, more than any other has highlighted the fact that to be a successful Rangers manager, or even a successful Celtic manager, there has to be some sort of understanding of the club. Ex player, supporter growing up, Scottish or be just a born winner. Sick of managers coming here thinking they will get time to implement a certain style and plan b is to do plan a better.
I do get the fact that certain managers will break the mould like advocaat, Jansen and so on.
I would like the opinions of any Celtic fans that look in here too.
I just think it takes a certain breed to be a manager at either side of Glasgow.
We went through it with Martin as our latest example and Celtic the same with Nancy.
Sometimes it's better the devil ye know.

They got lucky with Ange and how good his recruitment is. I agree with your point, he's the outlier. Literally every signing he made worked.

I'm actually glad McInnes is the manager and am fully behind him. I just wonder if we've been too quick to get rid of guys in the past. The reason I say this is because take Rohl for example, he comes in and plays his style of football and gets in his style of players. I've a hunch if you asked him at the end of the season if he thinks the type of player needed to win the SPL is different from what he originally thought, he'd say yes.
Gerrard was given 3yrs to work it out, Gio and Clement weren't, and I genuinely don't think they're bad managers. You can't always expect a guy with no experience of our league to get it right away but if they're good enough they'd learn over the course of a season what it takes.
Anyway, Derek knows exactly what it takes to win the SPL, hopefully!

Gersdaft. Advocaat was involved with the workings of the club for a good few months prior to taking charge. Advocaat did not want Gazza, that's why he was sold to Middlesborough before the season finished. Gazza has confirmed this. Advocaat also watched videos of Barry Ferguson before joining, and told Murray that he wanted to build a team around him. Fergie has also confirmed this.

When did Rodgers & Ange play for Celtic or any team in the league? Ange's whole thing was do plan A better. We & Celtic never used to sack managers for not winning the league, or Walter would never have been as successful as he was, cause he'd end up sacked.
You've picked the only 2 managers Martin was always going to fail, as his style simply wouldn't work & he's a bit of a doorknob. Nancy, the players threw him under the bus, cause some didn't like getting coached.

Clicked reply by accident before finishing.
You've picked the only 2 who came in & thought they'd get time to implement their certain style.
If this season showed anything, it's McInnes bottled it & lost the league, with 2 away wins from January. If knowing the league is so critical, then shouldn't he of won it already? He plays 1 style of football & doesn't change either.
McInnes isn't my choice, he's not as greaty as every thinks, but I'll back him, & hope if we don't win anything he will be kept on, as we will never get back to success with constant sackings. Gerrard showed us that, even though some can't see what we need is time to build a team capable of winning & challenge consistently.
We've not had a single manager before Gerrard or after have a whole season.
imo Gio & Clement were screwed about & are good managers, both won leagues in other countries & won cups in their first couple of months with us. Clement has done a fantastic job with Norwich & almost performed a miracle getting them to the playoffs. Gio got us to the Europa final & if our board/DoF at the time actually listened to him & signed a Striker we'd of won the final as Aribo would've been rested too.

And Delia is another outlier. Reinventing the truth to reach an answer you want. We all support Rangers, but just have different opinions; it doesn't mean we won't support DM or any player he signs.

Let's see what the team looks like and how they play erc before the fanfares. We're all wanting success but let's not get carried away just yet.

100% correct, Angus.
