EHL

as you know I've mentioned Mcciness before for the Rangers Job

in your own opinion -

Would he leave hearts?

Why would he want the job now?

And what do you think personally he could bring to our club?
What type of players and football would you expect him to bring in and play?

I'm starting to wonder if my first instinct on him getting the job was right or not now that it's looking like he might get it

Think I'm my main worry is European football - can he set us up to play good football in Europe and get through rounds?

Your worry is Europe? Really? At this moment, it's long down the list for me. If he ticks enough boxes to get down to Europe being a worry, then I'll be buzzin!!!

Europe is a bonus. We've got to dominate our domestic competitions 1st. I'd rather win a league, a double or a treble than win nothing and reach the last 8 of the Europa League. Let's concentrate on the basics and become the dominant team in Scotland 1st.

13 Jun 2026 08:59:39
We need to start winning the league 1st, that's priority.

13 Jun 2026 09:06:38
Absolutely, Iron McInnes, if it comes to pass, would have to concentrate on dominating Scottish football first, long before we need to worry about Europe. ?

13 Jun 2026 09:16:44
Bread and butter first, we really need to concentrate on how to improve domestically. Europe a bonus. Pains me to say, but we only need to look across the city to see how easily we could change for better domestic success.

13 Jun 2026 09:34:08
Hmm might be bread and butter first.
But, the owners will also want to be making money going through the stages in European competition and to also boost our coefficient so we keep a decent pathway to Europe.

13 Jun 2026 09:49:45
Stig, if we are successful with the bread and butter, we will make making money in Europe much easier. Just my opinion.

13 Jun 2026 10:01:09
Agree the domestic trophies are a priority, but for our club, we must compete on all fronts. If we perform poorly in Europe, there will be flak - it's just the nature of managing a club like ours. Wouldn't want it any other way. We need a clear strategy and style on all fronts, for us all to unite behind.

13 Jun 2026 10:06:42
Has McInnes turned the job down before? If so, why?

13 Jun 2026 11:00:23
Reggie, he was offered it many years ago and he spoke to Walter Smith who advised him not to take it due to the upheaval and mess behind the scenes at the club at that time.

13 Jun 2026 11:34:33
Without money from Europe, we can't keep spending, so Europe is important and the owners know that.
