Not sure again who it was that mentioned the cotton house restaurant out bonnybridge way
Was there today, food was fantastic
Haven't had a decent Chinese meal in a long time being up the west coast you just don't get them like you do down in Glasgow
Met my daughter today and we went for a late lunch early dinner was well worth the 4hr travelling time there ?
Definitely would go back- maybe next time get my daughter to drive so I can have a cocktail ?.

Stig, great you had a good day with the family.
It's got a really good reputation. Need to give it a go.

Stig, it was me pal, I drive through from Glasgow once a week for one, been my favourite Chinese for 5/6 years now. Glad you and your daughter enjoyed it. I brought it up because seeker said he stayed in (or near) Denny, and I knew the Chinese was around about there.

BB,
It was cracking mate - had the sharing platter for 2.
Then had a combination curry and the shredded chilli chicken - side of salt chili chips, fried rice, prawn crackers.
And a small red wine to wag it down along with a pint of coke. ?
Really wanted to try their desserts that were over in the tall fridge - but honestly think I rolled out the place I was so full.
?
Glad you mentioned it now, BB - really enjoyed it and hadn't seen my daughter for a good number of weeks because of me working away, so was nice to catch up with her and get filled in properly on how her work and life etc. ?

I actually think the sister restaurant is nicer "The Tea House". Cotton House is top though.

Stig, always get the shredded chilli chicken and salt pepper fries. Next time, try the shredded duck, it's superb, mate. Can't believe you didn't try the cakes, disappointed in you. ?
Yeah, glad you guys enjoyed it.
Brilliant for you guys spend some quality time.
Sam, your 2nd person to mention that the other one is better, so definitely going to try it this week, mate. Will let you know. Thanks.

Boy blue and Thestigno1, where is the Cotton House again, guys? ?
01 Jun 2026 08:47:14
Yeah both places are really nice, have been quite a few times. Probably one of my fave Chinese in Scotland.

Talking about food, guys, how many of you like monkfish? ? I absolutely love monkfish, so juicy and succulent. ? I've even had monkfish tail pakora from the Indian restaurant, and that's also beautiful. ? It's absolutely one of my favourite fish, and never a bone in it. ? ?

SWS, it's out Bonnybeidge way, mate.
If you google it - you will get the address.
I honestly couldn't believe how much food was going out the door - boxes and bags galore were continuously going out for takeaway, and the restaurant was packed while we were there.
Can see now why my daughter told me we had to book it before we went.
Wish they would open a place near me - they would clear up - up here.
Takeaway restaurants where I am are just awful, hence why we never get any.
So it's a nice treat when we take a trip back down into Glasgow to get some good food.

The Tea House is right on Larbert Cross. If anybody goes there, pop down and see my wee sister. She stays literally about 50 yards down the road on the same side!
As I'd said, Chinese isn't really my thing, but The Tea House is supposed to be excellent.
Enjoy if you do go, guys. ?

Same stig, even though I'm in Glasgow, feel there all crap mate. Cotton House only 20/25 min drive from where I am. Swso, give it a try, mate, you won't be disappointed, mate. I like it that much that, during covid, they were only selling to the local community, as didn't want people travelling, so I had to phone and order it and give a fake address of somewhere in Bonny Bridge, then stand at some random strangers house waiting for the delivery. When the delivery guy came, jump out my car and act as if I was coming out the random address.
Of course the we lady who stayed in the house saw what I was doing and came out to ask why I was standing in her garden (mortified), but I explained to her what I was doing and she couldn't stop laughing, said I don't blame you son, we love the Cotton House as well, in future if you have this problem just use my address again, what a brilliant we woman, so understanding. Got her and her family a nice curry the next time I done it. ?
