This is the classic case of someone being remembered as a fantastic player at the club when actually he wasn't. Much the same way Candiaes is now talked about when indeed he was bang average.

Sakala got a lot of stick, and sometimes rightfully so, but the one thing he caused was chaos in the opposition as he could go past a man, could sprint in behind, and even he didn't know what he was going to do, so how would the opposition?

Peterpan, your opinion is wrong. Candeias was a very good wee player for us. He and Tav had a great partnership. He is not overrated by fans nor underrated, he's given the respect he deserves for what he did.

91 games, 40 goal contributions. The minute breakdown would be an even better stat, as he wasn't always a starter.
He also had 5 goal contributions against the mob across the road (well, if you count the cup semi-final one).
He was basically our Maeda, wasn't great technically, but he offered carnage and could finish. Was gutted when he left, think the ship for him has sailed on a return, but looks to be doing alright in Saudi.

Michael Beale did bring in Danilo & Lammers at the time for 10m on big wages, who were going to be starters. Hindsight is great. How he was forced must have left a bitter taste for the wee man.
He has had a very productive time in Saudi. I think Lens are chasing him, and they pay very well. Could he be teaming up with Sima next season in Ligue 1?
