For about the 4th time i listened to the lawrence shankland interview on Rangers tv when he signed for us on tuesday there, it was from the heart and superb???I'd honestly say imo it's the best interview from any new signing for many a year ?By listening to shanks it jumps out to you immediately what Rangers means to him and how driven he is to be successful as a Rangers player? He's not just satisfied he's at last signed for the club he adores, he's so focused on the legacy he wants to leave at Rangers when his career is over and if it was left to him, he'd absolutely remain at Rangers for the rest of his career???You can hear in his voice and his mannerisms that he's Rangers to the core and he's so down to earth and focused about what he expects of himself to do/achieve at Rangers ?I've absolutely no doubt he'll be the main leader in our dressing room and won't be afraid to let others know ie.new signings what's expected as a Rangers player and what it means to pull that blue jersey over your head and what you're representing in all aspects of being a ranger ?I usually prefer a defender or a midfielder as a Rangers captain but i'd honestly now say imo i think our new Rangers captain should be lawrence shankland ??An absolute superb choice and no brainer for me as he's everything a Rangers captain should be and everything i'd expect from a Rangers captain ??? The reasons many of that i want him as our new Rangers captain are clearly very obvious ???

When Rangers get beat on a Saturday I want kick lumps out of the dog and the wife knows not to speak to me until the Sunday. I'm not actually that bad guys but you know what I mean, we need the Rangers players to start feeling like that, and I think Shankland will.

I am sure Shankland will, but does that mean he didn't care if Hearts won or lost? I think we should expect any player who plays for us to feel the same way after a loss.

I agree they should, but I'm not convinced, over the years, that they do hurt as much, certainly not all of them. Or maybe they're just really disciplined and have great poker faces. ?

Hurt, possibly not, but no player likes losing; if nothing else, it probably hits their bank account. But explain how Shankland played so well for Hearts. Was it because losing for them hurt as much as a Hearts fan? Not a great look for a Rangers fan.
Not a criticism, just an observation that it is professionalism and personal pride which made him want to win, not supporting the club.

All agreed on this. Shankland and possibly Watt too change the dynamic of the dressing room for a combined cost of only £3m.
