Hey guys, any news about Elliot Watt signing for us? Looks like Motherwell are valuing him at 3 million, do you think we'll be able to get this over the line if it's happening?

26 May 2026 15:24:53
If club are interested & believe that is a suitable price & player wants to sign, offer Motherwell around that mark & see how it is received.

26 May 2026 15:26:07
Boyd 83 As I wrote last week, I understand that Watt is on the list, but being non Scottish is down the list.
Even behind Neil. That came from a Motherwell employee.

26 May 2026 16:09:39
John, I find the non Scottish part strange tbh.

Not sure what his value is tbh, but think £3M is maybe pushing it with only a year on his contract.

But think we should be getting this one done.

John, do you think Raskin will be sold after the WC?

26 May 2026 16:16:10
I was hearing on what we made an unofficial offer of 1.2m that was turned down by Well, and player himself sees his future more back in England, although open if right deal.

From a Watt family member that I work with.

Opinion wise, doubt we would pay 3 million for a guy with one year on deal, by all accounts he's happy to see out this year with Motherwell with them involved in European football.

26 May 2026 16:20:05
Zikos, if he isn't Scottish and will be back up to main no 6, then he takes away from one of the 17 places in European squads. So, being Scottish or at least homegrown would be the temptation. And I personally think that £3M is a lot for a Motherwell player with 1 good season under his belt.

Not snobbery, before anyone says, but looking for some sort of consistency over a period of time. If he comes, fine, but not one I am overly concerned if he doesn't.

26 May 2026 16:20:58
Cool. Zikos, if we sign him he just counts as foreign.

I think Raskin wants away.

26 May 2026 16:46:10
My pal had a chat with Mo Ross about this lad, said same as me, very nice player, very good on the ball.

I felt he has good vision and can see things developing in front of him, often bypassing the mid players in front of him, and opening up defences. I like the boy.

26 May 2026 16:56:04
Angus, I actually think he would be starter.

I think he's better than what we've already got tbh.

Unless we bring in another 6, but seems like we're collecting them atm.

26 May 2026 16:59:30
Fellow bears, we definitely won't be signing Kilmarnock OOC midfielder David Watson as he's signing for Bolton Wanderers. ?

26 May 2026 17:13:11
Seen that, Sws, wouldn't have minded him at Rangers, mate.

26 May 2026 17:31:01
Would love us to get Watt. Think he could play a massive role for us, as he's a player in the same would as Davis (couldn't lace Davos boots). He's a similar type player who will dictate from the base of midfield.

Interesting, Foreverrangers, bc we'll be playing more than likely longer in Europe than Well would be this season. And if he's a Rangers supporter you'd think he'd choose us over down south.

26 May 2026 18:31:59
Watt is a Scottish under 21 international. He's declared for Scotland so we can knock this not Scottish stuff on the head.

26 May 2026 18:32:46
Blue89, he's not a Rangers fan, his family have a soft spot but he's not really a Rangers fan. His team were relegated from prem. Being told he definitely sees his future as south of the border.

26 May 2026 18:40:39
Cheers Forever, I was just going by his social media post from a while back cheering on Rangers.

26 May 2026 18:47:55
Yeah, I remember you saying that, John, with the amount of stuff that comes out every day, I just don't know what's happening and how fast it all goes lol. Well, if we do get Dan Neil, that'll definitely be some signing and much needed leadership. Exciting time ahead, especially after Shankland signing.

26 May 2026 18:50:28
Rangers will be his Scottish team but told Wolves fan.

26 May 2026 18:51:20
Walter, that one sailed a while ago. He felt he would struggle to be a starter, hard to disagree with his own viewpoint.

We never made him a firm offer.

Do the bouncy, how is he Scottish, born and lived in England for 25 years, has never played in a Scottish academy, so can't be classed as Scottish as per the rules.

26 May 2026 19:35:36
Aye wouldn't be a starter, John, probably done the correct thing for his career.

26 May 2026 20:07:01
DT+B, John is right. UEFA defines homegrown players as those trained by their club or another club in the same national association for at least three years between the ages of 15 and 21. Scottish is similar. Watt spent those years in academies down south, so doesn't qualify under those rules.

He qualifies to play for Scotland due to his family heritage.

Zikos, he probably will unless we buy someone else as we don't really have another real number 6, despite the 1000s of threads on Raskin. If he does, and makes us better, I won't be unhappy.

26 May 2026 20:42:40
Yes, My star, good luck to him, will watch his career with interest.

26 May 2026 20:44:49
DTB learn what it means in registration terms before coming and knocking this not Scottish as nonsense.

Lad hasn't played in Scotland for 3 years before turning 21 so isn't classed as homegrown at club or nation so he counts as taking a spot out of the euro squad.

26 May 2026 21:48:27
Bbj, that is twice now we have been on same page. Need to stop it or folk will start to talk. ??

26 May 2026 22:44:24
Lol John, love how you play the official line. As I said before, unofficial offer.

You probably know fine well a back channel offer was made and turned down.

But yes, yes, technically no official offer, John. lol your cute with the facts, John.
