EHL, that's the beauty of it, I suppose. Being a coach yourself, having been involved in football for a number of years, and having been at Rangers and probably a few other clubs beforehand, it gives you an insight into players. You get to see and hear first-hand what goes on behind the scenes.
Whereas we, as supporters, are mainly driven by what we see and read through the media and social platforms.
I'll take the reference you made to Josh Windass as an example. I hadn't seen, read, or even heard about what he had supposedly said regarding a youth player.
That's where you can take a viewpoint from knowing things the rest of us don't.
Personally, I always thought Josh was a decent player and a decent individual, but perhaps I'm wrong given what you've said.
As I've said before, that's where you make a difference on the forum. You can give actual facts and context behind the speculation we all hear and read about, and it helps put us more in the picture on certain things.
And it's always appreciated. ?.

Testing as much as I agree with your post, EHL can confirm. Was it not just remarks from Windass regarding a youth player that thought he was all that? Every1 has an opinion, and if I'm correct, Josh was correct, as said player has not lived up to his own hype.

Davie, he publicly named and slagged off a youth player on a podcast.
Would I expect that from a senior player at my club? No. Would I expect that from a club captain? No.
Hopefully we have higher standards.

I think you're right, Ehl. Off the park he's always been a bit of a knob. But you hear a lot of stories that he's a model pro on the park, great trainer, drives standards, doesn't drink, etc. However, not one I'm overly bothered about signing either way. 100% did not and do not want him as a captain.

He shouldn't have said what he said about that young player, and I hope he ain't anywhere near our squad. Just my opinion.

To be fair to Josh Windass - he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed - he makes Forrest Gump look like Einstein!
I would maybe cut him some slack in that dept.
In terms of the playing side, we need much better.
