I was only saying I think Curtis would score more goals than Moore if given same game time because a lot of people on the site stated he wouldn't have played if he had stayed. To me they are missing the point.
He should have stayed and played more for us rather than Kilmarnock. He is probably one of the best finishers at our club. I know some people will agree or disagree but that's what makes this site.

No, you are missing the point. He wouldn't have started 8 times like he did for Kilmarnock, otherwise he would have started before his loan more often. He needed to go away and get game time as a wide player as EHL has said.
The loan was a success.
So I think it is safe to say he wouldn't have started; therefore wouldn't have scored as many goals and also wouldn't have made the WC squad.

If Rangers played Curtis at left-wing all season, he would probably have hit double figures and been a candidate for Scotland's YPOTY. We should have shown more faith in him from the very beginning.
When we brought in Mikey Moore, Russell Martin said it would not limit the game time of Curtis - but it did. Moore was playing while Curtis wasn't. Eventually, Curtis had to ask for a move away to get minutes.

If Moore were to come back, there would be plenty of room for him and Curtis. They have different strengths and assets. Curtis can play on the right, and they are both young and will need to be rested at times during the season. It's not either or, we would be better off with both.

Curtis proved me wrong and I'm glad. I thought and still think he's too slow for a winger, but he's a natural finisher. Well done, son.

Waltersguitar, interesting to get your opinion regarding you think Findlay Curtis is too slow for a winger, do you also think Mikey Moore is too slow for a winger mate. ?
21 May 2026 14:11:24
No Angus, they would rather play useless players with no guts, and very little skill. Name me one Rangers winger at the Club that is better than young Findlay?
21 May 2026 14:26:35
Irvger, I honestly think the correct decision was to let Findlay Curtis go out on loan for the benefit of him, and as I rate the young man myself, I expect him to come back and kick on at Rangers. ? ?? Irvger, what do you think Curtis's best position is, mate? ?
21 May 2026 14:31:07
The loan move was a success. Surely Findlay deserves a starting slot in the side next season?
21 May 2026 14:33:03
Clarke said just last week Curtis was quick, he certainly is not slow. God only knows why anyone would think that. By the way, McCann also played him at right back, and he did well while we have a problem there and have had for a long time.

Angus and Sir Walter, sorry if my post seemed a bit abrasive. It certainly wasn't meant as such. I just felt that Danny placed more faith in those gutless wonders, like Gassama, Olsen and Antman.
I get frustrated also for the likes of Cameron and Barron, who it would appear are also not flavour of the month with Danny. We cannot afford to keep paying out £ millions for so called trusted players any more.

I'm with Walter's guitar, anytime I've watched Finlay I thought he was pretty slow for a winger. Heard a few folk in the media say that he's quick though, can't say I've watched him at all at Killie, so maybe I'm in the wrong. Sir Walter, yeah, I'd say Moore is also pretty slow for a winger.
Would rather see him in behind the striker, his lack of speed definitely held him back from improving his g/a. He is, however, still a very good dribbler of the ball, so still has his use on the wing, especially when we are short of other quality options.
21 May 2026 15:13:51
Moore is better all round than Curtis in my opinion. Also, Curtis doesn't "deserve" a starting slot, he deserves to be in the squad pre season and see what he does and how he performs in pre season friendlies.
21 May 2026 15:23:32
Curtis wanted the loan, wise move. Look at the position he finds himself today. Love seeing young players pushing for games, he knew himself it wouldn't have been at Rangers. Now he's living every player's dream and going to the World Cup, and only 19 years old, back into the Rangers squad this season coming.
21 May 2026 15:44:04
Jv1, I wouldn't say Findlay Curtis was lightning quick, mate, but he's far from being slow either, my friend. ? As I say, he's not a flying machine on the wing, but he's no slouch either imo. ? ??
21 May 2026 15:50:14
Good debate re Curtis. The question I ask is, would Curtis be going to the World Cup if he remained at Rangers?
If your answer is no, then we made the correct decision re the player and Rangers.
21 May 2026 15:55:59
Sws, Curtis certainly isn't slow, he's nothing like Hagi slow.
Alloa agreed. Moore is a better footballer than Curtis right now, and also a couple of years younger. That doesn't mean I don't rate Curtis highly, because that wouldn't be correct, but Moore is at a different level when younger.
21 May 2026 16:01:54
Overall, I think Moore is better, but Curtis is not far behind and does offer more of a goal threat. The 2 of them would be my starting wingers next season.
21 May 2026 16:22:18
Moore is quicker over 5 yards than Curtis. Killie playing him at rb was a great move to bring along his game intelligence.
21 May 2026 17:09:07
Irvger, I didn't actually, but then again my own style is abrasive anyway. Would Curtis have got as many guaranteed starts with us? It was also a less pressured environment, so it will help his development for when he comes back to us next year. Or we may decide it would benefit him again to go somewhere else where the pressure is at the top end of a league, so he has developed further down the road to come back and play for us in future. It isn't doing Moore any harm for his future doing similar. Like John, I don't think Curtis goes to WC if he had stayed with us. That will further develop him just ebbing there even if he gets 0 minutes.
Barron played 8 starts in 13 for Rohl before he got injured.
Not sure you can say then that Rohl didn't like him, just he got injured, needed to get match fitness back at a time we were challenging.
Also there is more to Cameron than we are aware, I think. As I am in Aberdeen, I have watched a few games and bits of others. Whilst he may be MOM in some, they are really poor and, tbh, I didn't think he was anything special in those games; better than a Dons player, but good enough to play for us then, no.
So, club make decisions for resins we aren't fully aware of. I have an opinion (on everything) and happy to spout those opinions but also very happy to leave the club to decide what is best for us and those players.
So just some musings on why I hold these opinions.

Moore already has a Europa medal, won that at 17 years old, doubtful if any of our players will win a European tournament.
