Because he realises that his posts were part of the problem where a referee is now under protection in his own house. His posts weren't just criticising referees but saying that they were cheating. That feeds the idiots within any team's support, who will then think their view is valid, and that it is acceptable then to act on that and abuse/attack referees.
So perhaps Stewart does have some conscience and isn't willing for his poor comments to be part of that.

He will have been told to remove these posts - He is just another nobody looking for soundbites and someone hoping to be valid and relevant and pander to the masses - another Sutton in the making.
