Still not sure about danny, but feel for him a bit, as how on earth can we tell if he's a good coach or not trying to get a tune out of half arsed over paid so called players? Remember there's still a core of players there that basically got clement the sack by going above him, basically making out clement was the problem and not them. Do we honestly think that same few have changed there attitudes of blaming everyone else but them? I don't, you still see it with Tav pointing people out always trying to take the heat of himself.
We can't keep saying the manager has lost the dressing room and blame the manager, as the one common denominator through a few of these managers has been a select few player. Tav basically demanding he should start after his performance in o. f shows its all about him. I feel Danny is trying to inadvertently tell us the team is full of players not doing as asked.

The players clearly aren't good enough, and Rohl has made mistakes, but you're right. How on earth are u supposed to judge him when players clearly have attitude problems going back to previous managers, too. Embarrassing, too, for a player to demand a hero's send off, having achieved so very little in his time with us.

Boyblue, the only thing that Russell Martin said that made sense to me was that he was looking to sign players with the right character and mentality, which was as important as skill level. I think Dr will be given a preseason and summer transfer window to get his own players in, players who, like you say, are not halfarsed in representing the club.

Yet every single player brought in under Martin has been accused of lacking character and mentality.
BB4, I do feel sorry for him, but at the same time, this same group clawed back that 13 point deficit and 4 players added in January.
Something stinks tho, with the Tav issue, and I'm 100% sure something happened in Spain between management/coaches to the players.

Bbj Tomthumb has been saying the same thing about something going on in the background. Think there's definitely something in it.

If Tav hadn't been here for 11 years, I imagine his reaction would have been very different.
He has given us 11 years, been an ever-present, rarely injured, and stayed through it all.
So I absolutely get his hurt. Plus, from reading his statement, he was given assurances that he would start.
I see both sides here.
It would have been great for him to have been able to walk the team out one last time, but Rohl clearly wanted to do everything he could to get 3 points and rightly so. It wasn't a nothing game at all. Fans are calling for his head, and 6 points from the last two were required to finish as close to the top two as poss.

Gazza, I can see both sides as well and have been a long-time defender of Tav on here. However, he will get the chance to walk us out one last time in his testimonial match. That is what that is for; when he has his family around him at the line up and accepting his deserved acclaim.
imo, not during a match which was all at once a meaningless fixture and one of 5 cup finals. It can't be both and I want to win every game without the carnival around it.
