Guys do we think this collapse will hamper our no1 targets coming, with not even much as a crack at CL football? That was my first thought yesterday as there 3rd went in, of how it will have a domino effect on so many different things, at a time when we have to get it so right.

imo, yes, some players will come for that and our budget might be smaller.

I doubt it, we will always be in the fight for Champions League football each year, so it will attract players even if we are in a lower competition the season they come, at least I hope that's the case.

100% Mate, would you have any interest in coming to us? Playing in the conference league (long shot but might happen I believe).
I reckon the number ones are gone, but we'll likely be on the fourth or fifth choice now.
Just wait until people see the prices we start selling players for.
There's no way in a month of Sundays people will pay some of the prices fans are expecting for absolute failures who managed to finish 3rd in the SPL.
I believe most top performing SPL players will knock us back. Some players like Graham are already saying no in favour of the lower divisions in England.

Might be a blessing in disguise because a lot of these players coming in only for Champions League are too big for their boots. Exactly why our team doesn't have a good work ethic or team togetherness. Half of them are too busy thinking about us as a stepping stone.

Think the money we offer has more value to entice players than the lure of CL football these days. Don't see the lure if yer getting pumped, which is more than likely for us these days in that competition.
Yes, a place to be seen for a future move, but not in a team getting hammered. We would be lucky to progress in the Conference League without serious change.

We don't attract Championship League level players even when we are in it.

I don't like the idea of guys coming simply for a crack at Europe. The vast majority of the football will be domestic and they need to be fully committed to that.
Under McCoist, we signed some guy from Spain called Juanma Ortis. After Ortis signed for Rangers, he gave an interview in which he spoke about 'leaving Spanish football for a crack at the Champions League'. Rangers failed to make it to the Champions League and were knocked out in the qualifiers.
Ortis was horrible as a Rangers player and never really looked interested. Ortis left in January, went back to the club we signed him from, and immediately started scoring for fun in La Liga. I always got the impression he came here for a go at the Champions League as he said outright, and was simply not interested in playing SPL football.

All comes down to Celtic winning the Scottish Cup. If they do, we go into qualifying in Europa. Conference League would be a big financial hit for us. ?

So are we now hoping Celtic win the cup? First time ever we are praying for Celtic to win anything.
