Guys let's get one thing out of the way. If dr gets offered the Wolfsburg Job even in b2 he's off. Make no mistake aboit it man

He's been in Britain for 2 years and his family have been at home.

What would anyone of u do?

Only thing wouldve kept him would have been champions league football.

He'll go home make no mistake aboit it.

And so would all of us.

Personally I think there's legs in this one and I do think he's going to be off. I actually think it's already ageeed and players know about it, hence the story leaking and imo the drop off in the team.

What would I do, Stevie?

Not sign a multi-year contractual commitment to a club in Glasgow,

Make no mistake, if Rohl leaves for this reason after less than a season, he's led us up the garden path. The result for us is more upheaval, chaos, and another desperate hunt for a gaffer.

If this is true - He's done us no favours whatsoever.

So u wouldn't make changes if u thought it was best for your family, Marco? Fair enough. Pretty sure, if someone offered u a massive wage somewhere, ud consider it, then change your mind if u got a similar chance back home. Hearing plenty wanting him out, so where would the commitment to a long term deal be then? I'd be disappointed, but if done in the right way, can totally understand.

Just don't be one of those that claims to want to be near his family and end up going somewhere completely different.

He's went where the work took him, mate.

Same as any job, get offered same job near home u take it??

Offshore in Africa or Aberdeen what u taking if money's same?

9-5 or 12 hour shifts?

Day shift or night shift?

Football fans don't relate to football managers n players, but they're same as us.

I have very limited sympathy, he's in football and knows all that comes with football. He knew what he was signing up for. As I've said before, I have a senior non-playing family member in a top 6 SPL team, even in Sco, as said family man has challenges week in week out, that's the nature of sport and Rohl will have similar in Ger.

If he's not up for that, get a different job. Nobody forces these folks to take these jobs or careers.

Contracts are there to be broken - well at least bought out.

If he goes, we will get compensation based on the value of his multi year deal, which will enable us to find an even better coach. Personally, although I like the gaffer, I don't think it will be difficult to find an upgrade.

09 May 2026 07:17:56
Zikos, only if written properly. What if he leaves for family reasons and does not go to another club initially.

09 May 2026 07:29:36
TJBB, yes it's the nature of his sport, one where players and managers move about all the time within their contracts if they or the club want to make a change. And, I'm sure your family member would move if offered better opportunities at some point because no jobs safe in this sport.

And, he hasn't walked out on us anyway, so don't get the disrespect from others towards him. He just might move closer to home which we would be compensated for.

Mentioned that the other day, John, if he says about family, then rocks up somewhere else, he'll deserve the stick he gets, though it's still at the end of season rather than midseason, so easier to replace. Folk wanting him out anyway, so cannot win either way. Hope it's just rumours anyway, and he's here for the long haul.

09 May 2026 08:48:12
Fair point, MVG, and sorry that was a bit disrespectful, but many folk do it thinking its best, then realise its hard. If he's changed his mind and has an option to go back, can totally understand.

09 May 2026 08:51:39
He will most definitely leave Stevie. Returning home for family is a no brainer.

09 May 2026 08:32:39
Kaiser, I wouldn't have interviewed for or taken the job if my family weren't coming.

09 May 2026 08:39:00
SG left to be nearer family and a few never had a problem with that, but with Rohl it's different?

I am starting a new job next week that's taken me away from my family, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. It's not offshore.

I don't know how I will handle it as it's been over 10 years since last time I was away for a constant time. But the money is too good to turn down.
So if he leaves, I don't have an issue if it's for said reasons.

09 May 2026 09:32:28
Storm, hope everything works out with your new job. Like, u say, it's a difficult decision, but u do what u think is best at the time, and sometimes it doesn't work out, so change your mind.

09 May 2026 12:01:36
Storm, All the best with your new job. I've also been offered a job, so it's out of retirement for me. The money I got offered was too hard to turn down, also the perks that come with it.
Week one Monday to Friday, Monday drive up 6 1/2 hrs to where I will be staying
Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 2hr drive ew there and back to where I will be working.

Friday drive back home.
Following week in the office getting stuff ready to go back up again.

The thing is, his family are in Germany and he obviously misses them like anyone would, so why would he go after the Rangers job having just spent two years in England, and why would he sign such a long term contract which would mean 6 years away if he fulfilled it? Was he not asked about this at his interview? It would seem a fairly obvious question.

09 May 2026 14:40:38
If he made it known at his interview, his aim was to go back to Germany to be with his family, that's fair enough.
