Well one thing today has shown is that Skov Olsen will not be a Rangers player beyond the summer. This was supposed to be our big game player who came with a decent reputation and was supposed to be a difference maker in games like today and yet he can't get off the bench to replace any of our wide players (who were awful all game).
This just shows that he can't be fancied much.

Tbh Rohl's confidence in Aasgaard n Gassama is going to cost us. Skov Olsen tracks back, so does Moore.
26 Apr 2026 21:35:05
Skov Olsen and Antman both unused subs in a game crying out for width and talent.
Not for one second do I think Danny Rohl was too stupid to realize this or who was sat on the bench.
What's going on with those two?
I think we've seen the last of both of them, BBJ.
26 Apr 2026 21:35:15
I don't get why Skov not been tried in that Aassgaard role.
But, to be fair to Danny, Skov has showed not nearly enough of the player he was, think he might have turned into a checkbook player, avoiding injury, shadow of former self.
Aassgaard is nowhere near what's required from a Rangers midfielder, and it's all attitude not skill that's the annoying thing.
26 Apr 2026 21:41:14
For Skov it's very simple.
Skov is very low on confidence and has returned from injury.
Having him on the bench, the manager is clearly hoping that he can introduce him into a game where we are in a more dominant, positive position.
Last 2 games, we have been in a shocking position due to poor starts.
It makes sense not to put him in when your every move is under serious jeopardy.
26 Apr 2026 21:54:33
Marco, the fact Gassama stayed on the entire game and neither of those two got on is showing me that you are 100% right.
Aphe, I get he is low on confidence, but if ever there is a game where he could have come on and turned the game round, this was it. Gassama was awful and Skov wouldn't have been worse, and, caveat your point, if he came on and turned the game round then he would have been getting some plaudits which could have made the guy here.
This is a guy who was brought here to make a difference and help win a title, not to sit on the bench and get zero minutes.
26 Apr 2026 22:21:23
Sorry, you're incorrect. I get you like Skov, but you're clearly taking it too far. I get that's your opinion and respect that. As soon as I saw him mentioned, I knew you would respond and kinda say what you did. Truth told, he's been subbed when on, and not started since, nor off the bench, simply because he ain't the standard required currently. You can say he's low on confidence or whatever. End of the day, he's not shown much to merit a place on the bench, never mind starting.
Unfortunately, the truth hurts. Wish Skov all the best in the future, but won't be at Rangers. I have my doubts if he will play again for us. You have stated on several occasions "low on confidence". At what point does this change? Now, a week, a month, a year? Skov's had a great opportunity to come to Rangers and prove to himself and other clubs his ability, but unfortunately he's failed.
26 Apr 2026 22:22:33
It was a calculated risk and it didn't work out. Let's not compound it and cut our losses. ?
26 Apr 2026 22:27:04
Sorry, Aphe, but you know fine well I'm going to challenge you big on this.
3 players you have backed fiercely are Olsen, Antman and Aasgaard.
You must be completely off it to suggest that Rangers should pay £8m for Olsen.
Antman can't get on the bench, and is Aasgaard our solution for a creative no. 10?
Let's play the game here and answer these questions seriously and without bias here.
I know you are a loyal fan from Scandinavia, but these guys have failed this season.
Let's be sensible in this debate. Moore changed things when he came on, and the boo boys favourite Tav set up another. 0-2 with Tav on the bench, 2-1 with Tav on the field.
26 Apr 2026 22:56:46
So Olsen is now only able to be introduced if we are in a dominant position, that is unlikely in next 4 games, so what's the point in having him anywhere near the team.
All players have spells where things don't go their way, but they play their way through it by putting in the effort. Olsen does not appear to have the desire to do this.
27 Apr 2026 00:23:11
Sorry Aph, but that's bull. Skov is a full international and not a kid, should not need to be coddled.
26 Apr 2026 23:18:50
Wrong on so many levels Rosto.
Once again the digs at me with players from Scandinavia start after a poor performance.
It is pathetic from you and you know fine we'll what you are doing
27 Apr 2026 00:24:16
And I was one of his biggest backers before he turned up at Rangers. His form has fallen off a cliff, looks a shadow of a player, and to me there is a hell of a lot more to it than simply confidence.
27 Apr 2026 03:32:47
Aph, I'm sorry but I don't agree with that, mate. You said in a discussion last week that people keep calling you out on this subject, and I specifically said no, it's because you feel the need to defend any post directed at Skov. I said you shouldn't feel the need to do that. You responded by saying I was wrong, you get called out every time he has a bad game. Now I know some have called you out, but I've also seen around 50 posts where you weren't called out, but still feel the need to defend him, just like this thread here where nobody called you out, but you're still defending him.
Then people are replying to your post, you're calling it a dig, what part was a dig, Aph? If you're referring to Rosto saying you fiercely back them, you do, so just own it. There's nothing wrong with backing them, or the part he said they've failed, they have, mate. They are facts. I've read through all the replies again and honestly can't see the problem, Aph. Maybe you can explain to me what I'm not seeing. I honestly don't get it.
27 Apr 2026 06:11:24
Aph, 1 question, would you take Skov to Brann and put him on these wages just to sit him on a bench and give him hugs? I don't think you would. Just an opinion. ?
27 Apr 2026 06:36:19
If Skov is just such a confidence player, then what's the point. If it's only to come on when we're dominant, then he's of no more value than an academy kid u would do the same with. Clearly he can't be doing anything in training either after 4 months to convince he could help when we need it.
Yesterday was obviously not his fault, but the team is full of players lacking confidence. We don't need another. What we need is players with a bit of belief who can be trusted to deliver, not just when the going is good.
27 Apr 2026 06:47:35
You just don't like your opinion being challenged, Aphe. I don't care who challenges my opinions. I've been defending Tav for years, but just accept that it falls on deaf ears.
You really have backed these guys and described them as "excellent" at one point.
Aasgaard is a bit of a luxury player, and doesn't dig in or track back when required, and he can go missing when we need him to unlock a defence at times. Great skill, but is far too inconsistent.
Antman is clearly not trusted by Rohl to start games, and was poor at times under Martin. You say he should be playing the no. 10 role, where Aasgaard should be playing, but his pace seems to be his biggest asset.
In many ways got Olsen in to replace Antman on the right, and you have said Olsen is short on confidence, doesn't really go by players, cuts into the middle and creates chances that way.
You've also indicated that the club may pay the cash to work on him over the summer in the hope that he'll come good, and you can't admit that is a massive, massive risk.
2 things; our 18 year old on loan player sparks more energy and urgency than all 3. Our 34 year old right back captain that has had to put up with more abuse than any other captain is better at delivering dangerous balls than all 3.
We are getting rid of Moore and Tav and will be stuck with Aasgaard, Antman and possibly Olsen, according to you, and you don't want us to debate it.
I think your feelings on the issue are a little brittle, mate. BTW, no hard feelings, personally, this is just challenging your opinion.
27 Apr 2026 07:21:26
Bb4, the problem I see is one poster basically saying he is only backing them because of where they come from.
All 3 have not been good enough, that is 100% correct, and I don't think Aphe will say otherwise, to be honest.
27 Apr 2026 07:43:51
Storm, Aphe is very stubborn, mate, and really puts a lot of names forward. He makes loads of recommendations and is very forthright about his opinions. This makes him a very valued voice on this forum.
However, he doesn't like his opinions being challenged, and can come across as a little arrogant and brittle. No sweat off my brow. The world is made up of all types of people.
